Wireless printing Am having problems getting my Vista laptop to recognise wireless printing from host PC running win XP can U help please?

I have a slightly different problem. Laptop using Vista OS will not print to either of my wireless printers on either of my wireless networks. So, two different networks (in different locations) and two different printers, and only error messages when printing. Printer is connected directly to the network(no stand alone PC).

will need some further details. Is is that the Printer is physically connected to the WinXP pc via usb?

Also, how is your network setup? PC connected to wireless router via cable and laptop wireless?

Give us some details and I'm sure we can get it sorted out.

If the printer is set up as shared and is attached to a host computer on the network (like mine).

  1. start
  2. network
  3. click on the computer that has the printer that is shared
  4. click on the printer and select connect.
  5. the printer will be displayed on the bottom of the page when it is connected.

I would like to know the wireless drivers that are compatible with my laptop pc hp compaq nx6310. I installed windows 7 ultimate but my laptop cannot access the wifi hot spot.please help me

HP/Compaq ONLY provides drivers for Windows 2000, Win XP, and Win Vista for this model of laptop. It is based on OLD hardware and they are NOT going to write any Win7 drivers for it. If you want to use the wireless features, you can TRY to make the Vista wireless drivers work with it, but I don't think you'll have much success. Of course, you can always install Win2k, WinXP, or WinVista again...

Dear sir, pls i have sent you a massage about my problem for dell inspiron 8600 win vista home premium installed but i cant get the correct driver for wireless adapeter to install i recieved an email from...

Hi, you can use the windows xp driver from here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4M_8600&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

As long its 32 bit system you are running.
The driver does not exist for windows vista.

You maybe have to find the name for the
wireless adapter in the device manager.

Select network and download the driver.

Hope this will help you.

I formated my Dell latitude D600 and installed windows vista. As a result, the wireless lan stopped working. I have tried running different drivers to re-instal the wireless yet it has refused to...

Dell does not provide Vista drivers for the D600 because it is too old.
(See: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&os=WW1&osl=en&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D600&catid=-1&impid=-1)

I see two options:
Purchase an add-on Vista-compatible wireless adapter (USB or PCMICIA).
Go back to XP. It will run better than Visa on the D600.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

Help me in getting my Win XP work with my WLAN.

Do you have two laptops, one with Vista and one with XP?
Can the XP laptop detect the wireless router?
If so check the wireless card settings on the Vista laptop (ie the SSID and the encryption setting) and configure the same settings on the wireless card on the XP laptop.
