Problem w/ my xplod amp

To wire correctly, I have the same xplod amp in my car.

Phono leads connect to the output terminals on the back of your head unit, Then connect to the input terminals on your amp.

The remote wire connects to the amp remote wire behind your head unit (if don't have a wire labeled amp behind the head unit then it usually a blue and white wire).

The power lead from your battery connects to the 12v or PWR terminal on your amp.

Then the Ground wire connects to a rust, dust and paint free area on your car (bolted down), Try behind your rear seats and find a bolt already there. This wire then connects to the GRND terminal on your amp.

Hope this helps.

I dont know how to connect it .it is an mrp-m850 i tryed to connect it but it wont turn on

well u run a power wire atleast 4 guage from the positive terminal on the battery, then 4 guage to a chasis ground source, then a remote wire to the rear of your cd player that will kick the amp on when the cd player turns on... then for subwoofer wiring go to www.the12volt.com for sub wiring options... you need either single voice coil 4 ohm subs or 2 ohm dual voice coil subs to get the 2 ohm load to the amp so u can get the rated power out of it...

Does the rmt hook up to ground or power

Hi the RMT is short for remote and is connected to a 12v feed taken from the remote output from the cd player, it provides the 12v needed to turn the amplifier on when required & turns it off when the player is turned off. Do not connect this to a permanent 12v feed as the amp. will be on all the time & you will have a flat battery every morning! Cheers, acbva.

I have got a kenwood cd player but can,t install it into my vauhall corsa because i need a seprate battery 15amp yellow cable to run from the battery supply to connect up to a cable attached to the radio...

You can test one of the wires from the harness connector for a contant +12v with a test light. They are sold at your local auto parts store for less than five dollars. The harness connector that i'm talking about is the harness connector that originally connected to the stock radio. All of the connections needed to install a cd player are all on that harness wire. The test light is simple to use, all that's needed is for the alligator clip to be hooked to ground. And from there, you can determine from tapping which wires are for the power supply. The power consists of three or four wires. They are ground, +12v ignition, +12v constant, and if installing w/ an amplifier, the remote. This is the usual place most people connect the wires for a new head unit.

Kenwood KAC-7202 wont turn on

I have found the problem to my Kenwood KAC-7202. The amps fan was the only thing that would come on thats it. So I started checkin zener diodes cause all transistors checked out fine. So I remember readinf about a guy that had same problem and took it to a shop and they said it was some diodes. Well, thats what I was thinkin or the transformer. It turned out that 1 zener diode was no good, diode D9 1ss133. I took a zener out of an old vcr I use for parts and put it in and the fan came on as usual then the red light. Then I hooked my mp3 player to the rca input and hooked up some speakers and it works great. Hope this helps you other guys with the same problem. Check your zener diodes with a digital volt meter, if you get any measurement other than the reverse impedance which will read between 600 and 1200 ohms some lower or higher and then reverse the leads on your meter and if you get any reading it's no good and the reading will be 0-50 cause mine read 047 ohms.

Amp won't power up

If you are saying that you wired the remote to the RCA from the amp outputs then that won't work. A good way to make the amp just turn on is to have NO speakers attached, no input RCA's attached. Just have ground to ground and B+ to 12 (battery). If your then temporarily jump 12volt from the B+ terminal to the remote terminal then the amp should turn on and stay on as long as the jumper is in place. In a normal hookup, the remote 12volts is supplied from the radio (head unit).

AMP turns ON then turns off

The power antenna wire only supplies 12vdc when the radio is on. When CD or other sources are selected, the power antenna wire goes to 0vdc. The remote turn-on wire provides 12vdc whenever the head-unit is on. If your amps are powered on only when the radio is turned on, I would bet that you have the power antenna wire connected and not the remote turnon wire.
