This is how to reset it:

  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (Mac or PC)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized
  5. Open iTunes on your computer and restore your device.
If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time or see the other procedures on my tip (link below):

My iphone 4's power button is broke. How do I reboot?

An easy way to reboot iPhone without power button or home button is to reset your network settings. Note that by doing this, your iPhone or iPad will forget your Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth preferences etc.
  1. Go to Settings app and go to "General" and then to "Reset".
  2. Locate "Reset Network Settings" and select it, enter your passcode if asked, then tap to confirm and reboot the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
iphone-4s-power-button-broke-oxaxc0rwhkhzilrwacqreyis-5-0.jpg While this works to restart all iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices when power button is broken, you will lose wireless settings, like Wi-Fi passwords, VPN details, and Bluetooth connections. Therefore be ready for that and jot down any complex logins or details beforehand.

If you own an iPod touch, you have the option to set a password, which Apple calls a passcode, to protect your data.
Anyone who attempts to access your iPod, after unlocking it or turning it on, will require the passcode to do so.
However, if you forget your passcode or incorrectly enter it, you will eventually see an alert that your iPod touch has become disabled.
To unlock your iPod touch after forgetting the passcode, and still access your content, you must connect it to the computer with which you last synced it.

Connect your iPod touch to the computer with which you last synced the music player.
Launch iTunes if it does not automatically open.
Select your iPod touch under the devices list, and click the "Summary" tab in iTunes.
Click "Restore" and, when prompted, click the "Back Up" button to save a back up of your iPod touch in iTunes.

Click "Restore" when prompted, after the back up saves. After restoring, click "Ok."
Choose the most recent back up from the drop down list on the "Set Up Your iPod" screen.

Click the "Continue" button to restore your iPod touch.

I forget my password on ipod touch

You can unlock it by simply connecting it to the computer that it was originally loaded from. iTunes will unlock the iPod for you, but it will not reset iPod password. Of course, as long as you don’t need to lock it again, that should be okay. The iPod will not lock automatically — it only does so if you specifically select the “lock screen” option.
There are several hacks and workarounds out there that will supposedly let you clear out the password by editing files in the iPod’s control directories through disk mode access, but I have never been able to consistently reproduce these, particularly on more recent firmware versions.
The only sure-fire way to actually remove the password entirely is to perform a “restore” on your iPod, which will erase everything on it, basically returning it to factory settings. If you’re using automatic sync, however, it should be almost trivial to reload it from iTunes, although it will take a bit of time.

I touch the forget network buttom on my ipod touch and wiped out my linksys network

Try clicking the Renew Lease button, on the same page where you found the "Forget this Network" button.
Or, on the home page, go to Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings. Reset Network Settings, again, in the red box. Once the iPod is back on, try connecting to Safari. If this doesn't work, try turning off your Linksys router for at least 30 sec to 1 min. Turn it back on and try connecting to Safari. This should work, hopefully.
