When I go to view a picture that I have taken, the picture is very small. Sometimes the picture has a double image on the bottom. This does not happen to all pictures. HELP.

CAnnon Powershot A630 LCD screen will not light up when trying to take a pic. I can, however view old pics that I've already taken.

First press the DISP or DISPLAY button to see if that corrects the problem. If not, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Want to load pictures off of my photobucket page to my web page on urbanchat...i have already resized the photos but when i browse it only comes up my computer and not photobucket.

This is how I download pictures from the Internet and edit them for use in other programs etc.

First create a "Temp Pic" file in My Documents.

Now go to the pictures you want to download.

Viewing to picture right click on it and select "Save Image As"

Now a download window will appear - locate your "Temp Pic" file location and hit "Save".

To process pictures go to www.download.com and search "Fastone Image Viewer" (FREE).

Install the picture software on your computer. This is a Fulll feature picture processing tool.

Now go to your saved pictures in "Temp Pics". Select THUMBS view.

Double click on the picture you want and it will appear in the FSViewer program. (If FSViewer does not open, click on its Icon and and use the file search on the left side to locate the pictures Temp Pic file.) There are many Preferences as to how you want the program to view pictures.

In FSViewer, double click on an image two view it in normal size. In Preferences you can set it to open all pics in Full Screen. ESC will always take you back.

For using the pics in a web page you can Resize the pictures to meet the requirements of the web page. You can also Crop images to highlight the main subject. The first time you crop or alter an image it will save it back to the file automatically with a new name to preserve the original pic. If you make multiple changes to a pic it will ask if you want to replace the original - say no and ad a letter or number to the suggested file name and then save it.

FSViewer will also download and save pictures from digital cameras as well as offer to delete the original camera files. FSViewer does create it own storage file. You must creat a file folder (like Temp pic to store you pictures) You can also store the pics in MY PICTURES, but create a sub folder for the pics.

Practice with a copy of a picture first to get the feel of the software...

After I take picture, the picture is captured & shown but when I try to view,(by pressing playback) it displays 'Cannot playback Image' with a big question mark. When I downloaded & tried to view...

Check to make sure that you did not accidentally change image format from jpg to crw(camera raw). Your camera lcd will only display jpg files and you need special software to view raw files on the pc.

Nothing or black screen shows up when pic is taken

The problem is with the software in the camera! So take your camera to the nearby service center and do a format of your camera! That will fix your problem. Also check whether there is any problem in ur LCD screen!

My viewing screen is black when trying to take a picture but when viewing pics I have already taken the screen is fine and show the pics..any idea what is wrong?

You need to go into the setup menu and turn on the display. This is sometimes turned off when you use the optical viewer or in low power modes. Your user manual will show you how to do this step by step.
