Installing a Transfer Kit

Our transfer kit is going to need to be replaced soon. Can this be done by someone in our office or do we need to have a technician come out for this?

Replacing the transfer unit
Replace the transfer unit when the printer control panel displays REPLACE TRANSFER
KIT
. The image transfer kit contains a replacement transfer unit for this printer.
WARNING! Remove any jewelry or any other metal items from your body to avoid electric shock.

1. Lift the front door handle and pull down the front door.
2. Grasp the right blue handle. Press and hold down the blue button. Slightly lift the right
side of the transfer unit.
3. Grasp the left blue handle and lift to remove the transfer unit from the printer.
4. Using handles, remove the new transfer unit from the bag. Use the blue handles on both
sides to hold the transfer unit.
5. Place the new transfer unit on a flat surface. Remove the orange shipping locks.
6. Guide the left side of the transfer unit into the front door of the printer. Insert the two
pegs on the left side into the holes, and then lower the right side into the door.
7. Make sure that the blue button on the right blue handle has released (popped up). If the
button has not released, grasp the right blue handle and pull the transfer unit toward you.
8. Firmly close the front door.

Reset transfer unit epson c3800

You can't - at least not without some specialised kit and knowledge.
The transfer belt also has a waste toner collector, so even if you just reset the chip, the waste toner collector would soon overflow, resulting in waste toner all over the inside of the printer (because there would be nowhere for it to go.

Refurbished transfer belts (and fusers) are available via THAT well known internet auction site.

I get a warning message that the transfer belt on my C534n needs replacing. The specification says 120,000 prints, I have just run the diagnostics report and have done 28,000 only! Any ideas?

If you only printed 28,000 pages on your Transfer Belt kit, this might be a pre-mature failure and it needs a replacement. Please contact our Technical Support Hotline.

My 4700dn is giving me the replace transfer kit message. I have swapped out known good transfer kits and the printer prints fine but I still get the replace transfer kit message. What can I try next?

The message only clears when you install a new transfer unit, one that hasn't been used before. If you want to clear the message, you'll have to install a brand new transfer belt.
If you know the service PIN for the 4700, you can probably go into the service menu and clear the message, but otherwise a new transfer unit is the only way to go.

Asking to replace transfer kit - old printer is this necessary? Can it be over ridden?

You can not over ride it. You can keep on printer till the printout gets bad. Then you will have to replace the transfer kit.

Transfer kit

The transfer kit is unrelated to the toner. On most printers it gives you the message that it needs replaced after X number of prints. Depending on page coverage and the quality of the paper you are using there may still be some life in it and you can clear the message and print until the image quality is affected then change it.
