Question about Camco Battery Fridge Refridgerator Alarm Rv Motorhome

1 Answer

I have a coleman cheyenne 2000 pop up camper and none of the lights will turn on to include the carbon monoxide alarm. All of the outlets work fine. We checked the fuzes and flipped the switch. We also disconnected and reconnected all the plugs. We tried the switch under the gallay but i do not have a multimeter to check the switch. The two cables are connected to the switch. The converter fan is not turning on. Any suggestions

Did you check 30 amp main fuses in converter, or on back of it, depending on what model it is? Do you have a breaker for power to converter, or does it plug in behind it? If it plugs in behind or elsewhere, try a light or something else in that receptacle and see if it works to indicate power to plug. Let me know what you find.

My camper has been in storage for 2 months. The carbon monoxide detector beeps every 30 seconds. I pushed the reset button and it does no longer beep. Is it still safe to use this detector?

Dale, My alarms beep like that to warn me of batteries needing replaced. What I do is hit the test button and ensure it sounds. I would still replace the battery(ies) and retest when you do.

When a carbon monoxide detector sends an alarm, there is cause for concern. You mentioned that the other CO detector did not go off, but maybe it is too far away to monitor the carbon monoxide levels that was in this area.

The instructions in your manual would direct you to evacuate the house immediately and ventilate. Your next step is to get a professional to inspect what may have caused the carbon monoxide leak.

A reading of 19 indicates that there is carbon monoxide in that area of your house, unless your CO detector is not working properly. Your local fire department will give you the best advice for what action to take when a carbon monoxide detector sends an alarm.

Be safe, don't assume a carbon monoxide alarm is cause by a defective CO detector, have it inspected.

Check your user manual for issues dealing with beeping alarms.

Your local fire department may be able to help educate you on the proper installation and use of Carbon Monoxide Detectors. A CO detector alarm should be taken seriously and you should follow the manufacturer procedures included in the package.

NEVER dismiss a Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm for a malfunction.
ALWAYS treat an alarm as an emergency and follow manufacturer procedures.

My First Alert Carbon Monoxide Alarm has failed

If the carbon monoxide detector chirps, the battery may be dead. New batteries can be defective. Check if the light is yellow when the alarm is chirping, it means the battery is low, replace with a new battery.

Same alarm problem setting offf

As a camper myself, I know that one of the last thing we check is our Carbon Monoxide detectors in our unit. I had an old Class C motorhome with a CO detector that failed to alert me, and my kids got to the point of being nauseous. We were lucky to discover the problem.

A Carbon Monoxide Detector needs to be changed after 5 years because the sensor is designed only to last this long. If your unit needs to be changed, you can shop online on my website http://carbonmonoxidedetectoralarms.com/

Good luck and happy trails.
