I called support concerning the same problem and they advised me the only solutiion is to restore the DP 02 to its initial factory settings (Track Edit, cursor up, and power on simultaneously until the Dp asks Are you sure?) This will erase your hard drive. I've had this machine for less than two months and I'm really disappointed. Prior to this latest episode the DP would not let me load two songs, telling me File Error 1005 FF (Pwr off).

I need to address one detail from my previous above post: My DP-02 did not say "error 50". My Dp froze due to "mount error". I called Tascam and they informed me that the only solution was to return the Tascam to its factory settings. Sorry for any confusion.

It's now 2014 - I'd forgotten I'd written about this. If you are having "mount error" issues, there is a good possibility you unplugged your Tascam prior to proper shutdown. I believe this is what happened to me. If you unplug your Tascam while it is loading up or shutting down, it can (possibly) seriously damage your Tascam. I had to buy anotthe Tascam to replace the one I damaged - have had no problems with it and have really enjoyed everything it can do.

How do I import a CD created on the Tascam DP-02 into the Tascam DP-32?

I have the Tascam DP-02 it uses a fat 32 partition, Fat 32 partitions are pretty much obsolete replaced with the New Technology Filing System or N T F S for short. Using the DP-32 systems software try plugging the DP 32 in to your computer once the software for you new unit loads locate and open the fat 32 system folder I'm not sure if the DP 32 uses the same fat 32 partition, But if it does the fat 32 folder should be there, Locate and open it you should then be able to move or delete your recorded material as desired

How do i fix the mount error, please power off.... on a tascam dp-02 when i turn it on?

The only solution I know of is: turning off the unit, then simultaneously pressing Track Edit, Cursor up, and power button until the unit asks "are you sure?" This will unfortunately erase the hard drive.

My tascam dp 02 started up with this mount error message I bought a tascam dp 02 for my son for christmas. When I plug it into the mains the display shows ' mount error :oc /please pwr off'. my email is...

The TASCAM DP-02 Owner's Manual has no reference to a mount error in it. There are many people online complaining about mount errors on their computers, mac and win, when hooking the tascam up via USB, but your post suggests this error was on the DP-02 itself, is that correct?

I get less than a dozen hits of people asking this question online, and absolutely no useful answers or responses.

Do you have the DP-02CF model? If so, it may be a faulty CompactFlash Type I card that it is trying to mount. If there is a disk in the drive, I'd remove that cd in case it is trying to mount a bad disk.

I can most likely help troubleshoot a troublesome USB-to-computer connection, but otherwise I'm going to have to refer you to TASCAM customer service, (although I must say the forums I've perused have little positive to say about them.) TASCAM support in the UK (a guess, but you did use the term 'mains' in your post) is provided by TEAC UK Limited at +44-8451-302511 or www.tascam.co.uk.

Best of luck & I hope that helps.

TASCAM DP-02 (You don't even include it here in your products!)

Here's a link to the DVD tutorial for the DP-02:

http://www.amazon.com/Tascam-DP-02-Video-Tutorial-Manual/dp/B001JP6572

There is also a video on Tascam's support page for this product that you can download for free:

http://www.tascam.com/products/dp-02;9,16,3580,19.html

You can ask questions here or consider joining Tascam Forums (I think it costs $4) and talk to Tascam experts from all over.

http://www.tascamforums.com/

The DP-02 operates almost exactly as the DP-01 did, so manuals and videos for one should pretty much guide you correctly when applied to the other, but the video in the first link is the correct on for the DP-02.

Hope this helps.

Best of luck.

Peavey PV14 to Tascam DP-02

The usual setup would be to use the main outs to your Tascam as the master faders control the levels there. The control room outs are more geared towards monitoring and are tied to the headphone outs level control.

I had the same message on my DP02 error 12 please power down. I went to an electronics store and asked a computer technician and he said it probably isn't getting proper power to start up .We looked at the manual specifications for power and found it needed a power adaptor which has an output of 12 volts and 2.5 amps which is 2500ma. Once I put that adaptor on it everything powered up and it works great.Look for an adaptor that says output 12v 2500ma and it should work fine.

Tascam DP-02 error 50:0

this happened to my dr-1 what i did is took out the SD card, used a card reader to put all the songs from the music folder onto my laptop, then erased the songs from the card, reinserted it into the Dr-1 and no more error.
hope it helps. tascam doesn't come with a card reader, they use a usb but i've found that a card reader is faster and easier to manage. you can get one anywhere they sell electronics for about $15. cheers

Tascam dp-01fx system 50 error

what the above guest said is exactly what you need to do. Make sure of course there is nothing on your FAT(previously exported songs/masters) because they will be erased. just go to menu->disk->fat reform, then press enter
