Refrigerator Intermittently Heats into the 80's &...

posted by gkunzelman on Apr 18, 2008

So my mother in law closes the fridge one night and the next day wife finds temperature into the 80's in the morning having spoiled everything - WHAT! (did she do). So I looked a the manual to find this fridge can actually heat in the bottom drawer - this is a REFRIGERATOR who in their right mind would put a heating element in a REFRIGERATOR - whatever. So I turn the dumb thing off, hit turbo cool, close the door and the little organe light by the 3.0lbs stays lit - wife said she thinks it has always been lit for the time we have had it 3 or so year. It cools down to normal - light is still lit. 2 weeks after mother in law has left and all has been quiet - I closed the fridge one night and opened the door the next morning to a reading of 97 degrees in the fridge everything spoiled again!!!!!!! What is the problem - how to fix it &/or disable heating element? P.S. sorry mom in law for thinking you did it.
