Hi,
Make sure your installation CD is ok by testing it in another system. You can use utilities in programs like Nero to scan the disk and make sure there are no read errors.

Let me know if this is of any use.
Best wishes,

Try to load the sys in the recovery manager trough the F10 key and do a system restore to a date previous the update.
If that doesnt work than u have to load trough the safe mode trough F8 and do the sys restore.
If that doesnt work u will have to do a recovery on the sys.
Turn off the Windows update its no god use to ur sys

I installed an nVidia NX6600 Video Card into an AMD system. I get up to booting and my system hangs when it starts to load MUP.sys. I starts up fine but it doesn't continue. Help me please...

Hi,

I have had mup.sys errors with AMD/Nvidia crosses in the past, try booting into safe mode (F8) and going to windows update to get the driver for the video card, also go to the MFR's website and update the drivers for the motherboard. Current drivers for the motherboard, and WinDrivers for the card is usually a good fix, although if you have a clocking program it may not yeild the maximum performance of the card, the Windows drivers are made for stability and not performance.

Hope this helps!!

Pavilion a622n restarts during boot process

First step is to get to the Safemode menu. (usually done by pressing F8 during startup but before the Windows XP screen). Select "Disable automatic restart on failure" (Something like that - I can't remember the exact verbage. That way when it crashes you will get the blue screen error and it will stop. Then you can further diagnose what is going on. Post back what it says...

Video Drivers

The file “Windows/System/Drivers/mup.sys” is not actually causing the problem. It’s the next step after mup.sys that’s causing the computer to hang. That next step consists of the OS checking the registry files for plug and play devices.
Some causes are: new or defective hardware installed, corrupted registry, (caused by virus), defective or corrupted hard drive, just to name a few.
Try removing all devices attached to the computer like printer, web cam, flash drives, etc.
If your computer has a PCI or AGP graphics card AND your motherbrd has a VGA connector, remove the video card and use the one on the motherbrd.
If the above doesn’t work, try running “CHKDSK /P” from the Windows recovery console.
