Hie Check whether the Printer Software is compatible with the Operating System which is on the PC. If it is compatible you shouldn't face any problems. If it is and you still facing problems try and download the Printer software from the Epson Website. that should help you then. Good luck
How are you connecting to the Internet now¿ That is a serious question since I will assume that this is a second computer hooked up to the same connection you want with the Presario. I also will assume that you don't have a Gateway / Router between the modem and the actual computer. I will assume that you want both of these computers on the Internet at the same time so you will want to hook up the Gateway. To reset the modem so that it will accept a different MAC Address (It's a computer thing) you will need to remove all the connections to the modem and pull out the battery that is behind a hidden door. The modem will need to be in this condition for 1 minute and then it can be hooked up to the new Gateway or Computer however you want it to be hooked up now that the modem has been reset. Good luck.
- Remove the printer and all drivers with it
- Then disconnect the printer
- Then power the PC off, to an actual shut down, power off condition
- Wait 30 seconds
- Turn the PC back on
- Reinstall the printer software
- plug the printer in when it tells you to do so
- try the printer now
- it should work
The Compaq Presario 5000 is not powerful enough to run Vista so XP is your best bet. I assume you have the standard 512MB RAM which will be fine for XP Once you outgrow that you'll need to go for more powerful hardware. By that time the new Windows 7 should have been officially released.
since your computer didnt recognize your monitor just add it manually ...if its an hp lcd screen hit the button above the power button on the monitor and it will auto adjust itself..if it still dont work go under control panel to monitors and add it.
