Sorry I have followup question before I can help you....

Are you trying to take snapshots using the button on the main screen when looking at it on the web page screen in IE or are you talking about hitting the snapshot button (looks like a tiny camera) in IP surveillence?

How can i replace a faulty hard drives in a virtual drive

If your talking a vm. If you take snapshots you could revert it back to a known working snapshot and then clone the VM. If you mean you have a faulty physical drive in a raid 5 just replace the drive and the raid will do the rest.

Otherwise I'd say just rebuild the VM.

I want to use my samsung mobile GT B5722 camera as webcam for video chat on pc...please tell me how can i do it in easy way....

Yawcam (Yet Another Webcam Software) allows you to stream a live broadcast from your webcam or DV camera. In addition to streaming video, the program can also save captured snapshots to a local file, upload them to a remote FTP server or serve them via the built-in web server. Furthermore, a motion detection feature allows you to automatically start capturing snapshots or perform other actions whenever the software detects any motion within the monitored area. Other features include optional text overlays, timestamps, motion detection mode, a built-in scheduling engine, password protection, image-to-movie conversion and more. Yawcam can optionally run as Windows service. hope this helps

Steps to install linux through server?

Let me show some basic steps which will help you to install RHEL through server or Network

Before we start, i would like to point out some informations
  • Steps shown here are explained with RHEL 5. But the procedure is same for all versions of RHEL which supports Network installation

  • For the Convenience to take snapshots, i'm installing RHEL on a VMware (Virtual Machine). So to me, some hardware resources are limited like physical memory, hard disk space, Graphics adapter ..etc

  • My Server which contains RHEL images is " LinuxServer " and its address is

  • Location of RHEL5 Installation Image on this server is: /home/nightflare/Test/RH5/i386
    Shared folder is: RH5/i386
So if we want to access this folder through network, then the address would be :

  • Due to limited hardware resources of my machine, i would proceed with TEXT MODE installation which is no different than the Graphical Mode.
So lets start.

I have a bootable CD of RHEL which i will need to start with. You can use any live CD or DVD of RH ( which support network installation ) to start the system. I inserted the Disc and set system to boot with it.

If you successfully able to boot from the live CD / DVD, you probably will get a screen like this

Type next to the boot: linux askmethod text and press

The option "askmethod" will set the installer (anaconda installer is default installer for RedHat) to ask us for which installing method should be used. RedHat Linux supports many installing methods like
  • CD or DVD (Local CD / DVD are supported. If you want to use Remote CD/DVD, you will have to mount it in a shared folder and proceed with network installation method)

  • Hard Drive (installation files stored)

  • NFS Image (images stored in Network Filesystem Partition over a network)

  • FTP (Installation files stored on FTP Server)

  • HTTP (Installation Files stored on HTTP Server)
The option '" text " will tell installer to use TEXT MODE installation. If you prefer Graphical Mode installation, you can skip this option.

After pressing Enter Key, the anaconda installer will load necessary files and drivers to memory and start the second level of installer. You will see,

After essential drivers and files are loaded, installer will ask for installation language, keyboard etc.

I select English as my installer's Language

On this screen, Choose the layout of your keyboard. In Most cases, The Keyboard Layout is USA, so is mine. But if your layout is different, choose appropriate Keyboard Layout.
I Choose US

Since we start the installer with askmethod , installer will ask for the method of installation.

I chose HTTP, since my RedHat Server is HTTP server.

When we chose Network Based Installation, Installer will prompt for configuring the network.

On this screen, Select what all IP technologies we want to be supported by the installer.

After selecting the IP configurations on previous screen, the installer will look up and resolve IP addresses.

After resolving IP Addresses, Installer will ask you for location of installation files on the network
Since we selected Installation over HTTP , we need to specify the server (Host name of server) which contains the binaries or installation files. And we needed to specify the location of the installation files in the server. Remember this location is relative to server and web accessible directory
ex.: in my case Server Hose name is LinuxServer and IP of server is
Installation image is located under /home/nightflare/Test/RH5/i386
But the location should specify on this screen is /RH5/i386 NOT /home/nightflare/Test/RH5/i386 or

After entering the details necessary to find the installation images, it will try to get those files.
If everything went fine, then it will try to pull the files from server.

If you see this screen, you can relax. System successfully found the installation files on server and retrieves it.

Rest of Installation is just same as Installation by Local CD/DVD

Just Skip this window. RHEL also comes in CDs which spans over many CDs each with a installation no. like DISC 1, DISC 2 ... etc. This is not our case, so we can skip it safely.

This screen ask to confirm our option to Skip. Choose Skip

Searches our system for any previous installations of RedHat

If Any previous installations were found, installer will ask for whether to Upgrade the previous installation or we need to Reinstall. I choose to reinstall

On next screen, we are requested to specify the partitioning. We can either accept the Proposed Partitioning or proceed with Custom Partitioning.
I Choose Custom Partitioning as it will provide more control over how the spaces are alloted ..etc.

Since I go with Custom Partitioning, I can edit, create and even modify partitions according to my needs.
Remember, I'm working on a VMware. In real cases you may dealing with larger disks or able to set up LVM or RAIDs

Select Whether Need a Boot Loader or not

On This screen, we can choose have extra boot options or not. Booting options are like typing single will cause kernel to log in to single user mode rather than multiuser mode

Can't Transfer image to FTP site

"STOR" is FTP lingo for storing (putting/uploading) the file onto the server. I'm presuming you have entered the appropriate FTP IP address, login and password and the FTP server is setup properly.

Presuming the FTP server is set up correctly, connect your computer to the same cable the Sony IP camera is connected to and use an FTP client from your computer to confirm you can successfully upload files.

If you do not have an FTP client, you can download a free one at:

If you had them stored into folders on your hard drive it should have, but if you had them stored into folders from the server then they're still at the server. You can access them when you log on.
