My S50 often (about once every 3 or 4 trips) screen freezes so that the directions and instructions still are heard and the distances etc are still shown but the moving boomerang icon disappears and the street view stays at one that was previous. Fixes with a few touches of the screen but this is a distraction. I have downloaded and installed the faster recalc fix for Australian only NAVMANs and that is brilliant!

Hello, To take apart a replace the battery of the Navman S50 you will have to:
1. Flip the Navman over and remove the 2 screws in the bottom. 2. Use a small flathead or other flat service to pry off the 2 curved panels on the side of the unit. 3. Look for and remove the 4 screws on the rear panel. 4. Use your flathead to once pry of the remaining back panel.
With Navman S80s screen froze only when trying to input home or destination address was working but suddenly started to screen freeze. Followed Gossages instruction and undid two bottom screw, then had to pop off side covers. Found two screws that where loose inside and floating around. Inspected the insides and found no Micro Card (clearly it is slightly different in manufacture) removed ribbon cable and re-installed, re assembled unit tested and everything back to normal, Ya? Dare say the loose screws floating around had caused a little short circuiting somewhere or perhaps ribbon cable connection was problem. Which ever a clean out of foreign material from inside did the trick?
