First you should check your air filters and clean or replace if dirty. Next check the outside unit and make sure the fan and compressor are running. If they are not then make sure the circuit breaker isn't tripped or the fuses aren't blown. The circuit breaker or fuses should be located close to the outside unit. If you have power to the unit there should be an access cover you can remove to see the contactor. With the thermostat set to make the a/c run look at the contactor and see if it is pulled in. If it is then check the capacitor(s) for the fan and compressor. Let me know what you find and I can give you some more advice.

Frigidaire AC window unit, model fam185r2a (18,500 BTU) only cools for a few minutes before it cycles off and just fan blows. Then a few min later cool air cycles back on. Is this a thermostat issue?

The window units normally have a sensor thats attached to the front of the indoor coil. This controls the thermostat. I usually pull this sensor away from the coil because it stops cooling before the room is cool. It is attached to the cold coil so it senses the coil temp, not the room temp. You can normally see it when you remove the air filter. Don't break it! It may be a wire or small copper tube

you have a slow leak in your refrigerant and need to find the leak. you will have to get an AC repairman to come to your house and check it for leaks and fix the problem.

My ac unit is working but the room is not reaching the desire

Is the condenser outside unit working. (Evaporator is inside the home.) If so you may be low on refrigerant. Have a qualified technician test it.

Improper Termperature Readings during AC run

personally i'd just replace the thermostat, but try pulling the front panel off and look on the circuit board and see if there is a jumper for F/C or any other settings. you may try changing its position. you can also remove the batteries for 15 minutes and see if it resets itself. the only other thing it could be is a wiring issue.

Ruud Heat Pump blows room temp on Heat and AC setting

A "Heat-Pump" is also known as a reverse cycle air conditioner, this means on heat the outdoor unit acts like the indoor section and vice versa. So in all probability you need to have it leak checked and recharged.

Heater blows cold air ac blows warm air

Your problem is the air temp control blend door actuator is defective and not controlling temp u set. to change/access this part the dash assembly must be removed from the car.
