In Photoshop, with all settings correct - per Epson's directions - and the right paper profile selected, RGB red prints orange. Any suggestions?

Have you done a nozzle check to make sure your colour is not affected by missing nozzles?

Did a nozzle check & cleaned the heads. Improved. RBG Red is now red. But RGB yellow is slightly yellow-green. Maybe, tho, that's the closest the 1400 will get, ya think?

Most probably. To ensure the best results use genuine Epson ink cartridges and do not refill them. The part number for yellow is 79(T079420). Use the Epson ink which has not exceeded the expiry date. For best results, use an ink cartridge within six months. You must remove that yellow tape from beneath the cartridge before installing it. Otherwise print quality may decline. That's the maximum you can do to improve the print quality. Thank You.

I have Epson stylus TX121 printer but whenever i m using to print out photo, photo comes in orange and red color, pls help me ....

Hi

When switching from printing on standard paper to photo paper, you need the change the paper and picture quality settings in Printing Preferences.

Start > (Control Panel) Printer(s) > right click on the Epson TX121 printer icon > Printing Preferences > Main > tick Photo or Best Photo > under Paper Options/Type select the closest match to the type of Photo Paper you are using (see photo paper packet for guidance) > Apply > OK.

Use the same procedure to switch back to standard paper settings to print on normal paper again.

I hope this helps

Canon iP4500 colour management

Try this setting. This might be different but try to point some similar preferences and steps then you can give it a try.

Open Control Panel (I'm assuming that the OS is Windows XP) click on Printers and Faxes.
Right click the Canon iP4500
Click Properties in the drop down menu.
Click on the tab Color Management
There should be a list of color profiles if the drivers were installed properly.
They are-
(Generic)
(Matte Photo Paper)
(Photo Paper Pro)
(Photo Paper Pro Matte)
(Photo Paper Plus Glossy)
The last profile is the one you want. Just above you will see the choice of "Automatic" or "Manual". Click on Manual and this force the printer to use the highlighted profile for all printing jobs.

Now click on DEFAULT.
Go back to the main Properties page and click on the General tab.
Near the bottom you will see "Printing Preferences"
click on that.
You should now be in a Canon ip4500 Printing preferences window.
Look for Print Quality and click "Manual"
Click on "Set"
Click on "Diffusion" and just above that there is a slider that should be all the way to the right.
Click "OK" to save the settings.
Now just below you will see "Color Settings"
Click "Custom" and then "Set"
Everyone sees colors a little different but the following settings print a photo that folks I show them too really like the balance of.
Cyan 4
Magenta -12
Yellow 0
Black 0
Intensity Slider in the middle
Enable ICM not checked (disabled)
Print Type set to Photo (you might want to try the other settings here to see how the prints look to your eyes)
Brightness Normal
Click OK to save settings and return to the Main Menu.
If you now go under the Profiles tab you should see you new profile there.
You can give it a special name like "Canon Excellent Profile Settings" clip_image001.gifor some other easy to remember name. This is the profile you want to use when you print a photo.
That is it...simple eh?
Now the other important part is in PhotoShop/PS Elements. Open the program and then open any old photo.
Under File, scroll down to Print Preview and click
If not open, click on "Show More Options"
Bring up "Color Management" in the box just below the "Show More Options"
For "Source Space" click ""Document"
This setting depend on the profile you shoot in, either Adobe RGB or sRGB. You choose the one you use.
Below that there is a setting for "Print Space"
You want to match that to your source, whether Adobe RGB or sRGB.
For the "Intent" letting I choose Perceptual.
Then click "Use Black Point Compensation" and that is it. Ready to print

I suspect this will be a tricky one! I am printing from a new iMac / CS5 setup. I am using OCP inks and Ilford paper. I am printing the same images to both machines. The print settings are identical....

hi Anthony, i spent a month trying to figure out a similar problem with an epson 2200. Now, the printers are different but not that much, and, the changes in paper and ink gave me "some" color issues but not as bad as what i was getting. your problem seems very similar. i run a PC so this is similar but not exactly the same. what i found was that a Magenta/ violet cast was due to double profiling. I could verify that i had the correct settings but i was wrong! I print from CS3 into the epson 2200. What i found was there is an error(no one is talking about) in the printer driver. You cannot shut off the color management completely! Assume this scenario, you are printing with CS3 applying your profile in CS3. Make the settings in CS3 as normal, then you are directed to the printer settings. Go to the print driver and make the selections for ICM Color, and select "no color". The KEY is to make sure you do this step LAST , make sure to click on the "apply" button, then "Close". Once you make the selection of "No Color" do NOT click on anything else. If you change screens in the print driver once you select "no color mgmt" the driver CHANGES your settings. ANY settings in the other pages in the print driver cause the driver to apply a printer profile, this effectively "double profiles" your photo print causing the magenta cast. None of this should happen if the driver was created correctly but there it is! It took a long time to test and verify but it is as i stated. Once i got it sorted out my photos are excellent ALL the time. Good luck, worm1855.

I have a Samsung CLP-315 laser color printer. I'm trying to find out if there's a *.icc or *.icm color profile for it to use with Adobe Photoshop. Couldn't find anything yet via google or others. Would you...

I have just purchased a CLP 325 and have set it up to get excellent colour pictures using Adobe Photoshop and the icc profiles readily available.
Your current working icc profile could be either Adobe RGB (1998), sRGB, Profoto or another. I would suggest that for everyday work use sRGB, if you are a specialist use Adobe RGB (1998).
Firstly make these changes in Photoshop:
Edit / Assign Profile / ColourMatch RGB.
To print:
File / Print / printer profile should be Adobe RGB (1998)

You need to select the correct Printer Profile for the type of paper you are using. If you are using non-Epson paper, you need to download the ICC Profile from the paper mfg. website.

You also need to check if the paper is comparable to an Epson paper that the printer supports. If the paper your using is not comparable to any Epson paper the printer supports then you might want to try using another kind of paper. Epson prefers Epson Paper. You can also try any non-Epson paper as long as it is comparable to any Epson paper the printer supports. Try to go to their website and look at the printer's specifications. It lists all type of paper the printer supports.

Printing issues with Epson r285

hi! try this! 1. go to control panel, select the printer, then right click the model of your printer, select properties, then select printing preferences.    in printing preference, select effect, then check the box of vivid photos. If you check vivid photos it will add enhancement to your printout. But thats not it, 2. open your photoshop, find your color settings, set your RGB color to (sRGB IEC61996- 2.1) then you CMYK color to (U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2) then off all your Color-management Policies and don't mind anything. 3. After your Edit your photos from RGB, then convert it to CMYK, then try printing it.

Dark prints when printing from my Imac using Leopard

I was also having problems with my Epson scanner on my iMac. I read that the best way to solve Epson's problems is to (1) uninstall all Epson software from your HD, and (2) download the appropriate drivers from Epson and install them.

Note: The Epson R1800 has two drivers: the most recent is an update. So, you must first download and install the Printer Driver v6.12. When that's done, then download and install Printer Driver Update v1.02.

I did that and I still got dark prints. Then I got an inspiration. In the Print dialogue box, I changed my Printer Profile to the paper I was using, Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper, instead of using sRGB and/or Adobe RGB. Specifically, I used SPR1800 PrmLstr PhotoRPM.icc. The next test print was virtually spot on to what was displayed on the screen. I am now a VERY happy camper.

Please pass this info onto anyone else who can use it.

Colors off. saturation incorrect.

I've had similar color management problems.  I've lacked consistent color management from day one with this printer.  I use standard Epson ICC profiles for paper /printer combinations.  In setup I select the specific paper type (mostly Epson Premium Luster paper.  SP4800 PLPP PK 288.icc profile. I use Print with Preview, Color Handling "No Color Management".  Under Print Setup I select Premium LusterPhoto Paper. Under Printer Color Management I select Off (No color management).
Prints with these settings are so far off from the colors in the preview image the only thing they are good for is the shredder.  In addition, I can use the same profile and printer settins and prints are different from one print to the next without changing any settings. Very frustrating.

I've gone through several hundred dollars trying to get consistent color management.  I also use an Eye One Greytag Mcbeth color management tool for both monitor, and for some papers, custom profiling.  Nothing seems to improve.
I did talk with a consultant and was advised to do a good head cleaning (which was done) and also use Disk Utility to repair permissions (also done) but still no improvement. My consultant from a reputable Pro Photo source advised me that I was not alone and that he ad numerous users who were experiencing similar color management problems.  This vendor no longer carries Epson because of  these continuing problems. Try the head cleaning and repairing permissions.  As for me, I've been struggling twith these problems for over a year.  I'm looing at trading in my Epson 4800 for an HPZ3100. This is probably overkill for my needs as it is 24 inch capacity but i like that it has an Euye One photo sensitometer built into the print heads.  I'll be going to the vendor and testing this unit later this week.

i think you have a corrupted driver- you have to uninstall driver first

1. Double click on the MAC HARD DRIVE.
2. Double click on the LIBRARY folder.
3. Double click on the PRINTERS folder.
4. Drag the EPSON folder to the trash can.

Go to print and fax and delete the printer name as well

Restart the Mac. (You do not need to empty the trash.)
If you have not done so already, please follow the steps below to download the latest driver for your printer in OSX:

1. Go to the following website: http://support.epson.com
2. Under the PRINTERS heading select INK JETS and then the Stylus Photo R2400.
3. Under the DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS section select MACINTOSH.
4. Select and download the following file for your operating system

which mac are you using? tiger ot leopard? intel core or powerpc?
