Re: white band turned yellow
Mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the chlorine in the pool water dis-colored the band, not to mention, possibley the watches mechanism also. Look for a small watch repair shop in your area for a new band and possible remedy for the water inside the watch.

Most likely a fake watch. Rolex makes white gold, yellow gold, platinum and stainless steel watches. Almost always solid metal parts and not plated. It sounds as the plating on your watch is worn through and the underlying metal is oxidizing.
Thanks for contacting FIxYa.
Is it a white gold wedding band?? You dont mention what color it is. If it is yellow gold turning white, then its not solid gold. If its white gold turning yellowish, then it needs to be re-rhodium plated which most jewelry protection plans will cover. You need to go back to store where purchased to find out.
Best regards. Jewel

If your watch band have UV sensitive pigmentation in it, there is nothing you can do, but buy the new band. Find your nearest jeweller and ask to clean watch band in ultrasonic cleaner for 1 hour. If this kind of cleaning doesn't help, that means your watch band is UV sensitive and is and will be discolouring more and more by the time. Alternatively you can try to clean it with the lighter fluid (ZIPPO). Soak a soft cloth in to lighter fluid and clean the band. Start with a small area inside band to make sure the fluid is not reacting as dissolver, as some resins react quite vigorously and tend to transform into chewing gum sort of state. And again- if this cleaning doesn't help, the band is UV sensitive and discolouring is taking place. That discolouring is happening becouse some of the colour pigments used in resin manufacture are sensitive to ultraviolet light and when exposed to sunlight or daylight, they react in a chemical way, changing molecular structure, wich we see as the colour change. This process can not be reversed and this is why the band can not be cleaned. Do not forget to rate please.
I just bought an Athletic Works watch at WalMart that is identical to the Aquatech watch I bought there some years ago. My band got hard and cracked so I needed to buy a new one as the band is not available. For $9 the entire watch is probably cheaper than a band. I used the instructions from my Aquatech to set the stuff on the AW. I found the instructions on the internet. Here is one site that has them. http://www.ehow.com/how_4587869_set-aquatech-watch.html Give it a try. Clem S
