I've had several paper jams in the last few days. After the third one today, I cleared the jammed paper & I can't get it to reset. I unplugged & re-plugged, etc.

This sounds like the timing sensor has been dislodged or damaged this happens when the paper is pulled out against the natural travel path of the paper. look for a broken off sensor flag or a flag that does not move frreely. if the paper is jamming close to exiting the printer check the fuser sensors for free movement. if its stopping more around the toner check the sensor above where the paper first comes out of the drawer. knowing where it jams would be of great help. hope this helps you

Check the paper feed tray for bent papers. Also, try blowing over the sensors to clear any debris. Check for small pieces that may have been left behind. If all fails, unplug it from the outlet, then start it up. Good luck!

Paper jam cleared no tears message still appearing clear paper jam than pressk OK have open the printer checked thoroughly turned off 8 times and on again. No paper jams all cleared.

When you turn off the printer unplug it from power and the computer for a few minutes. Plug only the power back in and turn it on. Also consult the manual to find out how to "reset" your printer.

Hope this helps

HP 5510 says clear paper jam. There is no jam

You could try unplugging the printer from the wall outlet, wait a few seconds then replug. Often times HP printers require a memory reset to clear up problems. There is no need to unplug from the computer, just the outlet.

Carriage Jam on my HP Officejet 5610v All-in-One printer

If I move the carriages to the center of the bar they slide on (would be the center of the paper) and close everything it seems to re-load, I've had to do this several times over the last few years and so far it always works

Paper jam message

Look for little pieces of paper that get stuck in the rollers, also verify that the gears and roller didn't get misaligned when you cleared the jam.
Good Luck,

Document jam

I had this totally annoying problem this morning. After looking for any obvious paper jams or small bits of loose paper, I tried several fixes: 1) open front cover, release levers that hold white rollbar in place, roll the bar forward to make sure nothing is stuck behind it, snap levers back in place; DID NOT fix the problem; 2) open top cover, remove print cartridge, look for jammed paper bits, close cover; DID NOT fix the problem; 3) unplug the machine, wait a few minutes, turn machine back on; DID NOT fix the problem. I even unplugged the machine, opened ALL the covers, turned the machine upside down and shake it to see if any paper clips, staples, or other objects have fallen inside the machine; DID NOT fix the problem. FINALLY, I pulled the paper feed tray forward, reached down to the feed rollers, twisted them a few turns, put paper back in the machine, and the "paper jam" message disappeared! This may not work for everyone, but it worked for me today, so I hope this helps someone out there to have a better day.

Printer problems

Try to reset the device by turning the device off and unplugging it for a few minutes - then plug it back in and power back up. Sometimes being powered off will clear the jam sensors.

Paper Jammed Message

try turning you printer off and unpluging it from Electrecity.
after that cancell all the printing jobs at your computer.
and last do a double check on the printer to make sure that there are no more paper left-overs into the printer.

try turning the printer on (after pluging to Electricity) and see what happen.

Printer error code

E-3 indicates a paper jam. Turn the power off. Try removing the paper and lift up the scanner top to see if there is any paper, debris, or foriegn object in there. Gently remove anything you find. Turn the power back on and press the start (black or copy button) and hopefully you will have cleared the problem. If not, you can try to reset the machine by turning it off, unplug it from the power source and remove the USB cable if it is connected to a computer. Plug it back in and turn the power back on. If this still does not clear your error, it may need to be serviced. I had this same problem last night. I did not find any paper jammed, but there was a small black twisty tie stuck in under the roller - it took me several tries and over two hours last night and another 2 hours today to discover the problem. It works fine now. However, before my second try at fixing it today, I had given up on it and purchased another printer online. Now what will I do with two? Hope this helps you.
