Question about Samsung PS42P2S 42 in. Plasma Television
No red flashing light on the front but there is flashing green light inside the back-on one of the boards when I took the rear cover to look around. There was also a distinct electrical smell right after it happened.
An ABT technician(over the phone) said they think its the "logic board"= $170 labor+$300 for the board. After reading numerous posts from others with this or similar problems, I looked again hoping to find evidence of a blown capacitor(s) but NONE of them appear to be domed or leaking like pictures of what they had. ONE cap had what looked like a brown/black line on top, similar to some other that have a blue marker line on them, but the brn/blk line scraped off when I touched it. Any advise would be appreciated??? TB
Check all the parts on the board that have the flashing light and those boards beside it.Look carefully, searches for those parts call capacitors, they have very common problems that have leakages of gases.Replaced these bulges up on tops, puff on tops capacitors, will cure ur tv problems.Or replaced the board that have the flashing light.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish of that board for the replacement.
