Question about Philips Magnavox 50ML8105D 50" HDTV DLP TV
your TV is having a power problem. The power board is defective, that's why there is no power on the TV.
Get a screw driver, open the TV cover to gain access to the power board, check for any blown fuse.
You need to get a meter, read the power board of the TV, in other to detect the bad component (capacitor, diode, transistor etc.), make necessary replacement and the TV should power up again.
The fault is mainly a power problem, so the power section of the TV needs to be diagnosed.

Thanks for using FixYa. You’ll need to reset it. To reset the TV turn it off and wait for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet and let the television remain without power for more then 1 minute. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. If the television is plugged into a power surge protector, remove it from there and plug it directly into the wall outlet. Turn on the television. If the issue is resolved, then the problem is with the power surge protector and not the television. If the issue is not resolved then this might have happened due to over-voltage. Please check the power supply unit for swollen/ bulged capacitors and burnt wires/components on the power supply board. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in off condition. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
