After hearing your computer beep once during startup, start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, Windows Advanced Options menu. Choose safe mode with networking.

Go to control panel then add/remove programs and uninstall Kaspersky Internet Security from there.

If you want an automated removal, you can donwload the kaspersky remover from here.

My laptop takes a long time to start but once it has started everything works fine.

Try this....

Click the Windows Start button
Right click Computer
Click Properties
Click Advanced System settings
In the Advanced Tab, Start and Recovery, click Settings
In the Time to display operating systems list a setting, set a 5 second value instead of 30.
Click Apply
You'll notice a boost in the performance of the startup process on next boot.

My uncle's hp compaq d530c will start up show windows starting then comes a black screen with white wording saying that you want start up normally? you press yes it takes you back to the windows xp trying...

Hi,

Turn the computer off and then disconnect all the external devices like (printer, usb devices etc)connected to the computer along with the cable for the internet .Then disconnect the cable for power that would be right on top at the back panel of the computer tower and with the power cable disconencted press and hold the power button for atleast 30 seconds.Turn the computer on if it takes you to the desktop then it means that there is some external device that is causing the computer not to come up to the desktop so find which deveice has gone bad check it by conecting one device at a time.

Next thing that you can try is turn the computer off and then when you turn the computer on or as soon as you press the power button to turn the computer on start tapping the F8 key repeatedly until you get a black screen that says advance boot menu option .Then used the arrow keys on the keyboard and then hit enter, select the operating system and then when you get the log on screen select administrator .If it takes you to the desktop then you can try doing a restore by going to start?all programs ?accessories?system tools and then system restore ? select the date when you think that you r computer was working fine and then click on next next to exit from the wizard.Should fix the issue .

If it takes you to the desktop and the restore does not work then go to ?start?run?type in msconfig?when the system configurtation utility page loads up the go to the startup tab click on disable all?apply ?go to the services tab?disable all?apply and ok to close the page and then restart the computer. If it takes you to the desktop then go to msconfig click on enable all for startup ,restart the computer .If it boots up normally to the desktop then there is a service unders services that is causing the problem,so we need to isolate the service that is is corrupt .Select a group of services and the restart if it does not boot the computer to the desktop then there is one service among the group that is not letting the computer boot up so check one service at a time and check .Once the faulty service is found let it be unchecked will not be a problem.

If the computer does not boot up to the desktop then without wasting time on any trobleshooting steps recovery needs to be done that takes the computer back to its original factory settings. To do this instead of the f8 key tap the f11 key till you get the screen that says system recovery ?click next until you get the screen that has advance option ?click on it ?select destructive recovery ?click next the recovery will start and the computer will be formated (whatever you have added after you bought the computer would be lost ).If the recovery does not work this was then it needs to be done from the recovery disks and fot that you call call HP...

all the best.....

What does e1-00 mean

This is a possible fix. You need to enter the printer computer and do a reset on the MCU. Press # * C * in sequence within 7 seconds of starting. It should ask for a 2 digit number. Enter 14 and press the copy start button. Printer should recycle and clear the problem. You will need to press the CA button once it stops cycling. Good luck

My laptop computer (windows XP, AMD 64 processor) is very difficult to start up. When I press the power button all I get is a blank screen. After 5-10 forced shut downs and startups I finally get it to...

Applications load at Startup, some may not be required. you can disable Startup applications using MSCONFIG.
  • Click Start, click Run and type MSCONFIG
  • Click Startup tab on top and view the listings.
  • Uncheck the applications which you want to disable from Startup
  • Click OK
Windows XP does not require any program for mandatory Startup.
But you should leave the following to run at Startup.
  • Firewall programs
  • Anti-virus and anti-spyware utilities
  • Keyboard software or related for hotkey functionality (this one is optional as well)
  • Software provided by your Internet Service Provider (for Internet Connectivity)
Also run a cleaning program such as Ccleaner and an antivirus program such as spybot search and destroy to make sure your system is clean and free from viruses.

Please rate this a fixya.

Toshiba M45-S165 startup issues

This is normally a motherboard issue. I had one with the same symptoms and I had to replace the motherboard. Worked great after the board was replaced. I had to replace the board because unlike your issue mine stopped working all together. It did take a while before it quit though. Just a note: I have had to replace several of these motherboards for customers as well. If your LCD is broken, you may be better off to save your data and put it in a new laptop that would include a warranty unless your super fond of the machine or you have access to inexpensive parts.
Hope this helps...
