If you are speaking of the H and L jet screws, they have special 'D' shaped heads that require the use of a special 'D' shaped screwdriver. This is so thanks to the EPA who has decided that folks in the USA have no business adjusting their own saws which is causing untold pollution. The only options that you have are: make your own 'D' head screwdriver, or take the saw to an authorized dealer for adjustment. (they are the only ones permitted to have the necessary tool) Good luck!

Saw will not rev up to full rpm when you pull trigger it revs up to 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and starts cutting out.

Engine may be too worn or may have run out of oil at some point, compromising the bearings.

I believe Black bull band saw is a Taiwan imported saw. They are even cheaper to HF band saws. This band saw have so many issues; make sure you align the guides, tune it up and use good bi metal band saw blades. I suggest you use the Haltbar 601 bi metal blade. I'm using Haltbar and I'm getting really nice cut.

Stihl trimmer must use choke for full throttle

Sounds like a tuning issue and carb problem. Before you go spending money on carbs or carb kits and start stripping down the carb, try this first.
*Unscew both H and L tuning screws ( not all the way out but back them off)
*Pull over until the engine fires up, it should run for a second and cut out.
*Screw both the H & L all the way back in.
*Then reset the carb to standard settings.
*Unscrew the H tuning screw 3/4 of a full turn.
*Unscrew the L tuning screw 1 full turn.

This should be the standard settings.

Start saw as normal and see if its any better. Failing that your probably looking at cleaning the carb or replacing diaphrams.

Rebuilt a Stihl TS400 concrete saw, and now it wont cut, the engine dies down and has no power but revs up? Ive tried everything!

All these people are missing a basic thing: check the compression. If you did all thus work yourself, you may have reused the head gasket or not installed the new one correctly. It will run with no load, but once force in exerted, the pressure finds the leak and exploits it. There is a reason 2-cycle engines run at 130-160 psi normally.

Generally this is a fuel / air ratio problem. Usually it can be solved by a carb adjustment. On the carb there are usually two screws, one marked low or L , the other marked high or H. Low is your adjustment for idle mixture, high is for mixture at full throttle. The saw should Always be adjusted to run well during the cut. Make adjustments a little at a time, then try The saw. Continue small adjustments untill the saw is performing well at full throttle while Cutting.

When using my saw at full revs and cutting it almost dies. have looked at tuning it but the points are fixed unlike a normal saw. the only part adjustable is the idle speed. any ideas??

The jet screws have special 'D' heads that are intended to prevent owner tampering. Your options are to make your own special 'D' head screwdriver or to take the saw to a servicing dealer for adjustment. Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel lines are in good condition. Check the carburetor fasteners for tightness. If there was a problem and repaired, that might correct the lean-running condition. Don't continue to operate a lean-running saw as that will damage the engine internals for lack of lubrication. Hope this helps!

Cuts out on high revs 240 chain saw

Many saws made today are using electronics for engine control. If the engine rpm's starts to rev to high, the electronics in the coil will start to 'cut out' some of the spark. This is normal in this senerio.

But, now the real problem causing the senerio;

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
5) replace gaskets/diaphragms
b) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb

unlikely. If u don't work on your bike the best thing u can do is take it back to whoever did the plugs and tell them to fix it.
