I need to reset my sons hp pavillion pc he put a password in and can not remember what it is.

look for a password caracking program called Ophcrack. look fir directions on how to use Ophcrack in an included "readme" file, but i believe this is how you use it:

burn the Ophcrack file (should be an .iso file) onto a cd-rom as a BOOTABLE DISK, and set your pc to boot from cd.

to set your comoputer to boot from cd, press "F1" or "Delete" to acess BIOS before windows begins to load. If neither of those kays work, try all of the Function keys, one of them will let you into bios, you just have to hold it down immediately when you turn the computer on, before windows begins to load. Inside BIOS, look for a "boot order" option, and set the CD-rom to first boot device.

Ophcrack will perform a "brute force" attack- it will try every possible combination of letters, numbers and symbols, until the actual password is discovered. This process wll take several hours, or, possibly, a day or 2.

I have an older computer and it takes windows 98, what i need to know is how to down load the 98 boot disk onto a cd that is in the lap top it has no floopy disk, my computer has been up graded with...

www.bootdisk.com try that, but if you had xp on it then get into the bios or press f.1.2 at post & switch it to "boot from cd"(make sure your xp disk is in). It should re-boot & ask to press any key to boot from cd. Continue from there. Trying to put '98 on without a floppy drive can be tricky to say the least. You'll need to find a way to load the windows dos based cd driver, from a cd just to get to the next step of the install. Avoid using 98 unless you really, really need it.

Go to Lexmark web site and type in your model and they should give you a free down load for your drivers. Most companies have the drivers to down load. Hope this helps....

I have an Acer Labtop 4620z When I turn it on it Freezes after The Desk top Loads... HELP.. Won't let me connect .. virus disks freeze as well ???

Before the desktop tries to load, hit the F12 key a few times until the boot choices menu loads on the screen. Choose to load it in "safe mode with networking"
Once the computer starts up, find all your data, music, pictures you want to save, and back them onto a CD, or external hard drive.
Next, shut off the computer, restart it, and hit the delete, or F2 keyseveral times until it loads the "setup" page. Once you are in the setup page, you need to find the choices for what boots first.
Choose to boot from the CDROM drive. Save the settings. Insert the recovery CD into the drive. shut the PC off. Restart the PC, once the recovery CD starts, then follow the on screen prompts to reinstall the operating system etc.
If this does not work then you have hardware failure of some kind, and need to have someone local look at it, and figure it out from there.

Hi I have a Acer Aspire T180 Desktop and have fitted a new SATA HD as the original went down. I am trying to reload Vista but when I get to a paoint passed loading Product key it asks to Load drivers ??...

You will need to go to a working computer and go to this web site:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_t180.html
Download the drivers onto a flash drive or have them burned to a CDROM/DVD and bring them to your Acer and upload/point to them on the flash/cdrom/dvd, should fix you right up.

Can't load xp pro onto my IBM Lenovo M52 Desktop

Check to see if the CD is an upgrade. If so, load an older OS first and then use the CD to upgrade.

How do i down load from my old coumpter and load to my new compter

You can do it thru several programs. But the easy way is creating a back up of your documents files and folders doing this:

(*) Start >> Programs >> Accesories >> System tools >> BackUp

Then the file created copy onto a CD or USb device

Then insert the CD or USB device in your new computer and use the same way (*) to restore the backuped files

Need to reload system

You will need to download the drivers for all your hardware devices first from the Computers site, like for instance DELL, ACER and so on. You will need to search for the download drivers section or support drivers and also you will need the model number of computer to download correct drivers.

To install windows fresh onto system you will require either the Recovery/Restore CD or Windows XP/Vista. You will also need to set your bios system to boot the cd rom first so that it loads the installation as you start-up computer. If you have any problems repost questions or queries. Good Luck!
