I honestly believe that the burned element in my toaster oven is replaceable
like a burned out oven element or dryed element. I thought someone would
show me how to replace the element. That didn't happen. I am dubious
about the need for experts via a commitment to a specialists' plan.

I have replaced heating elements on B&D toaster ovens in the past. Check here for specific information about your model: http://www.blackanddecker.com/CustomerCenter/parts.aspx

Hello. It is very difficult finding parts for and appliance over ten years old. I recommend that you shop a bit for a new toaster oven. They are much less costly than they used to be and work better. Plus they have a warranty. J.
