If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

We would need the model number to help you further, but would be happy to give you more DIY tips.

Chances are we can point you to the service manual online.

Fuse location

Good Afternoon Friend, that's a great question!

Depending on the model of your Frigidaire microwave, the fuses are typically on located behind the control console, on the magnetron or on the oven capacity. However, if your microwave does not heat, you may possibly have a faulty control panel, magnetron, or experiencing an issue with the power supply. Please confirm that your microwave is plug into its own outlet and that you are not using a GFI outlet. Hope this helps! - Z

I have a G E over the under the counter microwave the power cord fuse is 20 amp I replaced it pluged in the microwave front lights up I then put something in oven turned on fuse blows ASAP what should

If you're trying to say that the fuse blows as soon as you press the "start" pad to begin cooking, then you have as shorting high voltage capacitor.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Does not heat

There is a slo-blow 20 amp fuse inside of the ac power panel. You will have to remove the front and locate the fuse inside. This fuse suplies the power to the Traveling Wave Tube that spplies the microwave energy.

665.68601890 Acts as though it is not receiving power but breaker is not thrown. Is there an internal reset. Nothing responds - no lights, fan or microwave. Panel is black and non responsive

ther is on most microwaves a fuse inside usually located behind display panel located in a fuse block or will be on the control board itself.. normally a 20 amp fuse...try that first if not then make sure you have power to control and if so and no display most likely the display control board...
may luck out and be just the fuse though....good luck

Kenmore microwave 80404400 no power

This is typical of the 20 amp fuse blown. It can blow due to slamming the door or even opening the door to quickly while it is running. It could also blow if there is a failure of one of the door interlock switches. This fuse is ceramic and looks similar to a cylinder automotive fuse and is located behind the control panel on this model.

Microwave doesn't work...panel is completely dark

you can check the ceramic fuse which sits above the control panel. it could be a 15 amp or a 20 amp. you should have continuity if you check it with an ohm meter. if not, replace it, but if it blows again you have another issue with the oven and will need to get it diagnosed.

Frigidaire Microwave OTR FMV145KS2 not heating

Chances are it's a defective high voltage rectifier diode or magnetron.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use for test help, but read their safety warnings first:

(if it's not shorted or burned, it's probably okay)

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

You can download Frigidaire owner's manuals and installation instructions can be downloaded through the links here. where you can also locate a nearby authorized servicer if you choose.

The magnetron has a 10-year part warranty, but you would have to pay labor.

If nothing else, you can save about $75 by taking it to the shop yourself.

Good luck.

Microwave oven blowing 20 amp ceramic fuse

Chances are if the varistor fails, it fails drastically causing a short circuit across the supply. It will sit across the supply (it will look like a thick ceramic capacitor) and you can check for continuity after isolating that at one end. If it shows low resistance (it should show almost open circuit with a Digital meter), replace it.

It need not be the culprit. If you are familiar working with High voltage circuits ( they are lethal inside a microwave ovens as the current capability is high here), you can discharge the doubler capacitor and isolate the high voltage diode to check for shorts in the HT area.

Jennair jmc8130dds fuse blown

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. It took me a while to locate the information you requested. To answer your initial question, "YES" you will have to pull the whole unit out to access the fuse. The fuse is located on the input filter assembly board inside the oven. You will need to remove the exterior case to access it. If you go to pcappliancerepair.com you can find helpful illustrations, along with part numbers. Just type in the model number you provided and look at drawing number 5. This is a list of all the internal controls. The fuse is listed as item number 4 in the illustration and mounted to the filter assembly (item 18). You can purchase these appliance fuses at any hardware store as long as they are rated the same (20 AMP). CAUTION: Please ensure you UNPLUG the unit before servcing any internal components. I hope you find this information helpful. If you need additional assistance, please let me know.
