Jul 07, 2010 - I followed first time start-up procedure after disconnecting power cords and waiting for a couple of minutes before econnecting power. I first turned on AVC system and light goes to solid red on the AVC. When I then turn on power to the monitor the red light on the monitor flashes while the light on the AVC stays solid red. At this point they should both go to solid green I think.

    Hello,

The reason the light keeps blinking is because the monitor is not having anything to do, and that is as a result of it not receiving signal from any other system unit.

First thing you should check is the connection of your monitor to the power source. You can also test your monitor by connecting it to a system unit and ensuring the cables are properly connected to see if it will come on.

If it does the same thing, then you change the signal cable and the power cord and try to turn it on. The signal cable is the cable that connects the monitor to a system unit.

    TAKE CARE

Jul 07, 2010 - I have already tried those steps. The monitor was working fine earlier in the evening. I turned it off and an hour later turned it on and that is when I first got the red light flashing. Is there anything else I can do to test the AVC system?

Hi,
Let me know how many times red light is flashing on monitor?
Is it flashing once in one cycle, twice or five time in cycle?
That flashing red light is an error code that will narrow down problem section in your lcd tv.
Do you have service manual copy and some electronics knowledge, voltmeter etc if I need to check some voltage on specific circuit boards?
Thanks.

ACV unit light stays solid red

    Monitor light continuously flashes.

I do not have tools or knowledge to test circuit boards.

  • ronrudolph Jul 08, 2010

I will see if I can count number of flashes in each cycle tonight and get that information back to you tomorrow. thanks

OK, there sould be long pause in red light blinks so count pause to pause and let me know to diagnose problem.

I have service manual copy for this tv and can provide you helpful info to solve the issue.

    Thanks.

    OK, no problem.

Please do not respond this post except with red blinks info because I have to respond on your post due to site system or we will be disconnected to continue this question thread.

    Thanks for understanding.

there is no pause, red light on monitor blinks continually at a regular interval, maybe once per second. I tried a restart again, disconnected power cords to both AVC unit and monitor, restarted AVC (light stays solid red), tried to power up monitor (red light solid briefly and then blinking begins). I also tried holding down power button on monitor and then plugging in power cord to monitor, still got blinking red light on monitor while light on AVC unit stays solid red.

Yes, its one time blink that you see continue blinking. It is back light inverter board problem.

    Check F7501-F7504, F7551- F7553, F7611-F7614 and F7641-F7643 burned out on inverter boards?

Below is exploded view inside of tv that shows back light inverter boards location.

So I need to take monitor to be repaired. Please confirm that this is only a monitor problem and not an AVC unit issue. Thanks for your help.

Red light is blinking on monitor/ tv front that means it got problem and red blinking light is showing error in unit.

AVC standby light is solid red that means its on standby and will turn On once get connected with monitor. Now monitor has problem so it turns AVC to standby. AVC itself seems OK and monitor has problem with back light inverter boards, this monitor has 4 inverter boards located on either sides. Check inverter boards and replace defective one to fix the issue. Local tv repair shop will help you out if you have no experience of electronics stuff repair.

    Thanks.

Sharp Aquos LC45GX6U & TU-GD10U. The unit doesn't power up, and has a red blinking light from the moment you plug it in. The unit works fine in service mode.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Display powers of with power up of AVC

This is the problem with my LC-37HV4U. I plug in the AVC and the tv/monitor and I get both red power lights (not blinking) but no green lights, sound, or picture. I mean the tv screen stays black! It seems like their is no communication between the AVC and the monitor. I thought at least the screen would light up when the power light came on and being it has it's own power source. This tv is driving me nuts!! Can anyone please help?? Thank you.
