I cannot open facebook and youtube on the computer but i can open all other websites. the two sites seemed to be blocked. what can i do to fix it?

If you are using an Internet Explorer, you can add those 2 websites on the trusted site. Open IE, click on tools > Internet options > Click on Security tab > click on trusted site Icon > click on sites button and then put in the website and click ok.

You may also check the firewall settings to check if is block by your firewall.

I keep receiving the message that Webroot Desktop firewall 5.8 has stopped working. It happens everytime I am on the computer.

The Webroot Desktop Firewall was discontinued several years ago and has not been updated to work on current operating systems or OS patches. Unfortunately, the best way to resolve this issue is to uninstall the Webroot Destop Firewall and replace it with any currently-supported firewall. If you want to stay with Webroot, their Internet Security packages include firewalls. Other firewalls are available at various prices or free, and as always, no firewall is perfect in operation or convenience, so find the one that you trust best and works best for your needs.

Check your firewall on both machines - make sure that the firewall has the other computer listed as a trusted machine. What OS are the computers running? Do you have sharing enabled (for the desired files in Windows OS)?

I hope this helps.

(who runs a Win7 network and the firewall trust issue meant that the printer connected to one computer (Win7 64-bit) was unseen by the other computers (64-bit and 32-bit) until that was reset. The location of the setting will depend on the firewall software. In Norton Internet Security 2010, it's Network Settings, Smart Firewall, Advanced, Trust.)

Firewall blocking runescape

Disable all firewalls, as Norton, Zone alarm etc.
Also disable windows firewall from control panel.

If it still does not work check the router settings. Routers have internal firewall, you may need to add your laptop's ip or mac address to the firewall as trusted one.

An alternative is connecting laptop by wires to the router, probably the router firewall will let it go , as wired connections are set to less resticted security.

Can't connect firewall

Have you checked the subnet? i.e. 255.255.225.248, make sure both PC and firewall are set the same.

Check the firewall settings on the PC, for port 80, 8080 & 443 and the ip address of the unit if you connecting with web access.

Try to up the IP on the PC to 169.254.236.185, it some times does not like being before the device.

Aslo, some times the PC needs to have the network port reset, as windows keeps the old IP address, but shows the new. The quick way to check this, is to disable the network connection and then enable it again.
