Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Logitech z-5450 wireless 5.1 speaker system. The center speaker has cracking, static noise, wireless rear speakers OK, right and left Ok, just the center speaker, swap speakers, same on center channel when put into prologic II decodeing. Stero mode OK, because nothing come through the center. Volume does not increse the static noise, the static noise is constant, so, if the master volume turns louder, it drown out the static somewhat, but at listening level it is annoying.

Hi, If the speakers are not powered speakers then it is not from the speakers. But if the speakers are powered, then the sound IC is bad and needs to be replaced.

Try and troubleshoot your connecting cables,it will be fine.

Take care.

This seems like at cables have gone bad or either the connections in the speakers went bad. Its best to replace them unless you know how to disassemble and re-soder the connections.

I have a new samsung home theater system w/ wireless rear speakers. all of a sudden the rear speakers now have a static/cracking noise. ive checked the connections and they all appear good. i dont know...

Move the wireless speakers up to the main system box and see if they work OK with an almost touching signal - it could well be interference between the player and the speakers.
Test them at the front and get back to us.

In dolby digital mode i can not get any voice volume. All other sounds are ok

Assuming that you mean Dolby digital 5.1, confirm that you have a center channel properly connected and perform the following;

Using the remote, enter the menu on the receiver and navigate to the selection labeled "LEVEL." Toggle through the selections until you reach the "CENTER CHANNEL". You will be able to use the remote to increase the volume of that channel in .5dB increments.

My logitech z-640 speakers arent working and i have no clue why first id like to know where to plug in the plugs in my laptop theres a geen, orange, black cord i have a microphone, headphone and some other...

The different connectors are for 5.1 surround audio, and are for different speakers with your system.
  • The green connector is for your front-right/front-left speakers
  • The black connector is for your rear-left and rear-right speakers
  • The orange plug is for your center speaker.
Most laptops do not have support for 5-speaker audio, so if you want to test each individually, you will need to plug them in one at a time and test playing sounds through them.
Hope this helps,

Logitech Z-5450 5.1 surround sound speakers - no sound from rear right only

Unfortunately I have the same problem. As an electronic engineer I suspect that the power supply part of the unit is damaged. I opened up the module (don' t try it, its a little bit tricky since there is a type of glue around the silver bezel, after you remove the 4 screws from the front holes) and did some quick static measurements with a multimeter, so far no luck. Since I am still in warranty I will try to replace the item. Hint: protect your electronic equipment with ups or surge protection devices.
