Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

I have a ET1331G-03W Emachine and this morning it was working and then it just shut down. When I went to start it again using the eluminated front button it came on for a second and then off. I unplugged the power from the back and now when I plug it in the power supply fan starts but nothing seems to be powered. Any ideas? Brian

Emachine ! ( junk) sorry but sounds like the mother board died on ya time for a new one bro this is a hardware problem and emachines tend to do this after a year or two and if they don't get good air flow they get hot and fry out thats what it sounds like the mom board went out so don't waste your time trying to fix will end up costing you more to have someone do it right and will probably get ripped off in the process unless you know how to. so buy a new one the best desk tops are HP, toshiba, and get a higher end one if ya can sorry but is a spendy problem good luck and have a nice day the fixist

IT SHUTS OFF AT BOOT UP

Hi
It seems like Operating System failure. Most probably corrupt system files.
  • Try removing the hard drive and re-connecting it.
  • You can also connect the hard drive to another machine (as a slave) for automatic repair.
  • Or run an Original Windows disk and select 'repair' (R) on first page.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

I need 2 put a nvidia gforce2mx graphics card in my emachine ET1331G-03w. Is it possible

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Driver downloads as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

Yesterday my friends emachine ET1331G-03w just bought 2 months ago, due to microsoft software updates issues upon restarting her computer won't start windows due to problem above, we tried to do f8 on...

As the computer is only 2 months old, you should be able to contact Emachines and have
them send you a recovery disc out for the particular model. As the computer may seem identical, in most cases a recovery disc from your computer will not work because of a different
driver or some other small issue.

Emachine ET1331G-03w Documentation

Hi there,

To install an IDE CD rom, you will need to open your computer and you will see an IDE Slot, your computer usually has two of them either directly next to each other or under each other, there is usually one white one and one blue one. IDE Slots look like this:
2604eb7.jpg

The white IDE Slot is usually for the Hard Disks and the blue IDE Slot id usually for the CD Roms.

The white IDE Slot is the Primary Slot and the blue is the secondary.

You will need an IDE cable to plug in to your blue IDE Slot then you will need to plug the cable in to your CD Rom and make sure that your CD Rom is set to run/work as the master. If your computer only has one IDE Slot or you do not have an extra IDE Cable you can plug the CD Rom in to the Primary IDE Slot with the Hard Disk assuming you are only using one Hard Disk.

If you are going to use the Primary IDE Slot you will need to make sure that your CD Rom is set to run/work as a slave and it must not be set as the master. The way to change it is by moving the pins at the back of the CD Rom, they are found at the back next to the place where you plug the IDE Cable in to or next to the power input. You will be able to tell if your CD Rom is set as a slave or as a master by checking the image on the top part of the CD Rom, this image will tell you how to set your CD Rom as a master or as a slave.

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.

Warm regards,
BearWeb

If you mean your cdrom drive wotn stay close, what can happen some times is the actually cdrom unit it self has shifted back inside its rack. try opening case and loosing a few screws here and there and shift it forward. make sure nothing has got stuck inside of door tiny bit of paper or anythign can cause it. hope this helps
