Question about Bosch Dishwashers

1 Answer

Water supply to my Bosch SHE43CO5UC/17 dishwasher seems interrupted and not being supplied to the unit. Water supply to the unit is checked and confirmed available. What are the possible causes, i.e. stuck solenoid valve?

Could be a dirty hose filter or faulty inlet valve. Ther could be a leak and the bottom of the unit has flooded activating the flood safety which will cut the water supply. The pressure chamber and/or the hose pressure chamber to sumo could be block (take of left side panel and these are at the bottom right). Finally, the aquastop (grey box connected to the mains water supply that feeds the d/w) could be activated, faulty or fitted in the wrong position
Hope this gives you some where to start..

and how could it be desactivated? (the aquastop?)

  • Roni Davey Oct 27, 2010

The aquastop should be positioned with the arrow pointing down. If the valve has activated and is in the correct position, you can deactivate by turning off the water supply, running the dishwasher so that it is expecting to fill (if you hold the grey square box at this point, you should feel it slightly vibrating, which is a good sign that it is working ok). Clear the filter in the aquastop. Turn off dishwasher via the reset as per model. Refit valve, turn on supply and check for water tightness. Finally, restart the the d/w and if there was a fauklt with the aquastop ( and not a different fill problem) this process should have reset it.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

Had the same problem on a Siemens SE65A590/A13 dishwasser, it worked! Aquastop probably got activated because of the dirty filter (which reduces water inlet).

    Thanks!

Hi Gilgol, The link below is a Bosh Dishwasher list of error codes, I believe your error code is E3....CHEERS..
http://removeandreplace.com/2015/10/09/bosch-dishwasher-error-codes-how-to-clear-what-to-check/
Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E3
Fault Condition: Not filling with water
Repair or Check: If the water supply cut-off valve on the dishwasher is completely open but the dishwasher will not fill with water then shut off the water supply and unplug the dishwasher. Remove the water fill line and check to see if the water inlet screen valve is plugged up. If so then replace the water valve. Cleaning the screen can make the issue worse so always replace if the screen is clogged. The valve can get stuck open from gunk and therefore flood or overfill.

The water supply line to my Bosch dishwasher (model # shx46a06uc/21) froze. We didn't realize this and tried to run the dishwasher. Now the line is unfrozen, but the dishwasher still won&#

Check for water supply to the valve. Check for 120vac at the valve during fill cycle. If you have both, the water inlet valve is bad, part number 00425458.

Bosch SGI4345AU/17 shows 2H on the display, it does not seem to matter which program is selected, the unit runs continually. It does not heat the water or finish any cycle. The washing tablet covers the...

The Control unit on your Bosch has a burnt out heat circuit. Just about every dishwasher has a number of "thermal holds" during the wash and rinse cycles in which the controller waits for the water to be heated to a specific temperature. Most dishwashers check for a temperature rise over a certain amount of time and will shut down if this increase is not seen, however, Bosch does not employ this secondary check and the unit will run for as long as you allow.

The Control Unit on your dishwasher will need to be replaced. Being as Bosch is extremely properitary on their parts sells, it is best to actually talk to a parts supplier directly in order to ensure you are getting the correct controller. It is very important that the replacement controller is for your model #, including the /17 designation at the end. A xxxxxxUC/12 controller will not work on your model.

The Control Unit is found in one of 2 places; 1) behind the Control Panel, or 2) at the lower right hand side of the unit towards the rear. Both are relatively easy to replace.

Water comes into dishwasher cold. why???

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Have you insured the unit is connected to a hot water supply line ? The water will not heat until it start's to circulate and activates the "flow switch" in the Bosch dishwashers.

If it is connected to a hot water supply, try running the hot water at your sink taps before turning on the dishwasher. If you still do not have hot water, check your hot water heater or supply.

If it is indeed connected to a cold water supply it will work, just be prepared for very long wash cycles since the Bosch machines will heat the water at a rate of 2F per minute...it could take a long time to reach 155F.

Let me know what you find out and I'll try to assist you in any manner I can going forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Had a clogged garbage disposal, once fixed, the dishwasher stopped getting water to it, sounds like its running, but no water coming to the cycle, Its a bosch dishwasher, motor seems to run, drain...

if you didn't do the disposal fix yourself then there's a possibility that whoever did it closed the water valve to the dishwasher although there is no good reason to do that...

I would check the valve then make sure that a severe kink wasn't put in the water supply line while working on the disposal...

one other cause could be a relay switch stuck in the closed position which will not allow water to the unit and would of course be a total coincidence and unrelated to your disposal repair.

Bosch dishwasher not taking in water

May be open circuit water valve. Appliance will go to error mode if water level has not reached a certain height after a preset time. Check coil continuity with a multi meter. Should be looking for about 200 ohms.
