What is 3-3-2 beep tone meaning

System doeIf there is one DIMM in the system the memory row/bank may be disabled when there is a memory failure. The system will not boot because it has no memory to use. If the DIMM is replaced with one of the exact same type and size, then the system will continue not to boot. BIOS cannot tell when a DIMM has been replaced with one of the exact type and size, therefore BIOS believes it is still the bad DIMM and will not use it.

Here are two possible workarounds:

1. After replacing the defective DIMM, continue to reboot the system until you hear the "no memory" post beep sequence (3-3-3) during POST (no video display). After three (3) incomplete boots, a "062 three consecutive boot failure. Using default CMOS configuration caches are off" error will occur. At this point BIOS will go back to the default settings and begin to use the new DIMM. However, if you have disabled the 3 boot fail count (this setting may not be available in all servers) in Setup, then BIOS will not turn the DIMM row/bank back on.

2. Remove the DIMM. Power on the system until the "no memory" post beep sequence (3-3-3) is heard. The memory row/bank will now be marked as being empty. Power off the system and put a good DIMM back into the system. The memory DIMM row/bank is re-enabled and the system boots normally.

NOTE: If more than one DIMM (or more than one DIMM set) is installed in the server and one memory (or one memory set) row/bank is disabled due to a memory failure then, the user must go into setup and re-enable the row/bank after replacing the bad DIMM.

Memory stick upgrade 2 512, 2 1GB what order do I put them in

On the motherboard they should be labeled as to which slot is Dimm 1, Dimm 2, Dimm 3 and Dimm 4. Put the larger ones (1GB) in Dimm 1 and Dimm 2. The smaller ones (512MB) in Dimm 3 and Dimm 4.

HOW TO ENABLE 289 DIMM D01 is disabled in server 2008.

terrible question; please add more detail

if your system has a dual CPU socket, perhaps you don't have a second cpu (where more memory banks usually require that second cpu socket to be populated in order to use the dimm slots); doubtful, but there could also be a jumper on your mobo

or maybe look in your BIOS; that's where things are enabled/disabled (i.e. server 2008, afik, doesn't have a way to specifically disable a dimm slot)

the mobo (or system) manual may have guidance for memory installation; e.g. sometimes there's a size or slot population type table (or compatibility; i.e. maybe the memory you are installing is dual rank and the system only takes single, thus it appears that the slot is disabled)

How to reassign the 9 key to open another line for outbound calling. Currently, it opens line 4 of our system and we want it to open line 2 on the station. Thanks

To change the dial 9 group on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming2.gif)
2) enter in #47 the screen should say DIAL 09 GROUP and then 11111111 1= in group 0= not in group
3)enter 11000000 for lines 1 and 2 in dial group 9 4) press # when finished

Ram

Hi,
Okay, you don't need two video cards. Your 4 memory slots are grouped in two's. One set is black and blue, and the other set is black and blue also. These are your dual memory channels.

The reason you can't see more than 2 gig ram is because you are probably not running 64 bit Windows with a 64 bit processor.

32 bit windows will only display 2 gigs, but max memory is 4 gigs. It will draw on the extra 2 gigs if ever it is needed, but this does not happen very often, if ever.

Dual chanel problem

The beeps your hearing are known as bios beeps. They are telling you there is a problem with your memory. On your board the four dimm slots are split into two groups. A & B. Pg. 19 of your manual. Please read Pg. 21. Remove all your memory & put only two of your 512 Dimms into slot 1 & slot 3. Boot the Pc. Notice any beeps? Check your boot screen to see if bios sees the current memory as matched memory. Shut the Pc down & remove memory, replace with the other 2 Dimms in the same slots. Boot Pc. Again check to see if memory is being seen as matched memory & no beeps. Are you getting the idea here. What we are doing is trying to find which if any dimms may have a problem & which dimms work in which channel. Increase in size to 3 dimms or 1.5Gb in memory till you find a working order with no beeps. If you think 1 or more dimms may be faulty download a free test program called -Memtest86 at this link.
http://www.memtest.org/ Scroll down till you see - ** Memtest86+ V1.70 (01/14/2007) ** all typed in red. Here you can choose what type of bootable file you want. An iso or a zip. You can creat a bootable floppy or a bootable CD.
This should help. If you have trouble & need more information please post back.
