Question about Westinghouse 19" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor won't come on

I was having problems with my CPU, couldn't get past the HP logo screen. I disconnected everything and reconnected, when I did the monitor wouldn't come back on. Took the CPU to Best Buy-The Geek Squad and as is typical it worked fine with their bench test. When I got it home and reconnected the monitor wouldn't come on. I have one small wire coming from the monitor with a geen end, not sure if it needs to be plugged into the CPU, there's no place for it. The off/on green light does come on, I don't have a manual for the monitor!

The cable with green plug is for the audio connection between the monitor that has built-in speakers and the PC.
I would try the monitor with other PC, otherwise it sounds like the porblem is in the monitor but you need to try it with other PC first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have a colouredge Eizo CG246 monitor. the hewlett packard HP logo is frozen on the screen. i checked all cables and rebooted monitor but still cant get past this logo on the screen. any ideas anyone?

How old is the monitor? Is this a burn-in problem? If not, check the monitor settings to see if there is a video input from the computer. Check the monitor with another computer, and the computer with a different monitor.

Dell logo won't go away.

If you are lucky a hard power reset will fix this. Disconnect all the cables, hold the power button on for 10 seconds, release the power button, reconnect the cables and turn it back on. Otherwise you may have a hardware problem.

My screen says RGB no input signal when i try to start comp

Check the chord that connects your monitor to your CPU. 1. It might be disconnected, If so, reconnect properly 2. It might be bad. If so change. 3. If the above problems do not work there may be a connection problem from a faulty hardware either on you CPU or monitor. If so take to a good technician for repairs.
I hope you find this helpful.

Hi I wonder if you can help me. I have the flatron L1918S monitor and it was working fine yesterday, however today when i turned on the pc, the monitor flashed the green light on and then goes into power...

When after power up the computer press num lock key if num lock led is flash on and off when you press num lock key then your cpu is working fine. But if it stay constant then open cpu cabinet cover then reconnect RAM memory and processor and it's fan pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then reconnect it then check.Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet. If num lock led is on and off then when you power up the computer press F8 key 5 to 6 times so you can see safe mode and other menu then enter in "Enable vga mode" then go to display property ->settings change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok. then check. If everything are fine in cpu then your monitor need repairing. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Screen will not stay on, getting message no input signal

The message input signal means no signal is being feed to the monitor.
Check the cable use to connect the monitor to the video card.. fix and secure the connection.
If the computer is reading and you know its working, check the video card.
Turn off the CPU disconnect the video card from the motherboard and reconnect.
Try to open your CPU and see if it reacts with your monitor. If nothing happens replace your video card

L1932TQ Fails on Desktop, works on Notebook

it simply means that your cpu is not giving back signal to your monitor to process, in fact, it is a cpu problem that is why there is nothing to display in your monitor.

Your cpu froze because of that usb thing. the only way to unfreeze it is to manually reset your hardware in this order.

1. RAM modules. If you can unplug your RAM (memory modules) connected in your motherboard, please do it. Just unplug the modules and then plug it back in. if you have 2 rams, then interchange them when plugging it back. this will force your mobo to refresh its resources.

2. CPU. if you can pull out your cpu chip, then do it. this will refresh your cpu setting in your mobo. (mobo = motherboard)

Regards!

Intel PC wont boot past startup and keeps shutting down unless I disconnect the cooling fan, let it start and then reconnect the fan

hi,

might have to get a higher wattage power supply,
the initial amperage draw plus everything else may be causing the stock power supply volts to dip past the limit
maybe download the intel active monitor and study that, or hook up a voltmeter and watch the output at startup.

good luck with your toy
