Hp9500y hp desktop. At startup on the screen is the message "monitor going to sleep" how do i wakethe computer up? I have changed monitors, video cards, and cords and still displays the same message

cable is connected but not rcvg any signal.
the problem is in the computer. Everything u checked is indicated good by that message - at least to the output of the video card.
I'm getting the computer is not booting up. In fact, the processor may not be running. TYPICALLY on an HP the PSU is a problem.
if there is a green LED on the PSU and it is off, dim, or blinking - replace the PSU

Monitor keeps going into sleep mode and it won't turn on so i can use it.

Monitors go to SLEEP mode when there is no computer signal coming into them. As soon as a computer signal reaches the monitor, it will automatically wake up and show the images in the screen.

My HPw1707 monitor keeps going to sleep and I have to turn off the computer to get the programs to open when I want to work on anything.

Are you saying that the monitor is going to sleep or the computer? If the computer goes to sleep I can understand not being able to get to your programs. This is a simple matter of turning off hybirnate in the power supply icon of your control panel. If the monitor is going to sleep there should be a menu with a timer for sleep time. Just change it to a much longer time or turn it off.

HPW 2007 goes to sleep

Try going to the control panel after clicking on the start button and it will have an icon that says "power options", there will be options there for the sleep functions for the monitor etc.

Screen shows message "no input signal" and monitor goes to sleep.

monitor show "no input singnal" error masage when not gating any type of video singnal ,
so if u realy check your monitor wires for correctty plugged in .
then:-

Two possibilities:

either the video/mainboard of the monitor is defective; or
the video card/ CPU is the faulty.

A way to verify is to try the PC with another monitor or to try the monitor in another PC.

thanks

Computer asleep

If you go to control panel > display settings > Screen Saver > Power (win XP) or Control Panel > Power Settings (Vista).

This will allow you to turn off the sleep or change the amount of time until the computer goes to sleep or turns the monitor off.

Going to Sleep Displayed

I turned on my computer and the monitor displayed this message on the screen "going to sleep no input received". I checked the power cord and unplugged it, nothing. No lights are flashing or beeping sounds. The CPU is working just fine, anyone have any idea what to do
