Question about Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera

Open Question

I have the G9 it's 3 years old. On the weekend for the first time I went to spin the wheel to change my scan setting from flora to mountain and it wouldn't change the setting. I tried to use the mannual appeture by using the wheel and it didn't do anything. So it seems the wheel doesn't work anymore. I use it all the time for underwater settings in the housing. Now I can't use it at all underwater. \because I can't get it onto the underwater setting using the wheel. What is wrong can the wheel be fixed and how much will it cost? Cheryl

SOURCE: underwater camera housing

I think I can.
I looked on Canon's site and no luck, so I searched and found a website that may be of some help.  It requires a free registration, but it seems legit.  It is called TheUserManualsite.com.
The User Manual Site - We found it so you don't have to!

It seems to be a website that serves as a repository for user manuals.  People upload the manuals they have and search for and put out requests for ones they are looking for.  Here is the link for the manual you are looking for.
http://www.theusermanualsite.com/manuals/mfg/canon/canon_wp_dc2_1163b001aa.html

It seems that no one has uploaded it yet, but you can request it if you register.
Sorry I couldn't find the manual, but I do think that should help if you can't find it another way.

SOURCE: Picture White Out

Your problem may be an easy fix. Assuming you don't know much about cameras, have you checked the ISO setting? For an outdoor photo the ISO needs to be at a lower level or the result is a white out.

SOURCE: My camera got wet on the boat this weekend...lights out now

Hey SmmrCndw,
As far as what water damage would cost to repair it would really depend on what internally is damaged by the water which we can't determine until it is looked at by an authorized service technician. I will say that most camera repairs exceed the value of the camera. Although this is a nice camera, camera technology has grown exponentially in the last 2-3 years, and a $100 would go a long way towards the purchase of a much better camera. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

I reside in Arizona, what's the setting for this Time Zone (Mountain doesn't really work because it tends to change the hours when Spring/Fall time changes). Our time stays the same year around.

Arizona is in the mountain time zone and does not observe daylight savings time except for the Navajo nation. Please read at: TimeTemperature. com. I hope this helps

I have a Vizio 37" HDTV that recently started losing the picture. The sound has been on continually but the picture now flashes steadily but mostly remains black. It went out one day, came back afte

it sounds like a backlight issue. It could be as simple as a few bad caacitors. If you already replaced the set and you just want $$$ toss it on your local Craigslist as a parts/repair set. There's always TV shop owner and parts scavangers that will buy the set as is. Price wise, if the set is in good condition and come with remote, and pedestal, I would ask $60 as is but you may get more

Took RAV 4 to NC mountains and back twice this weekend. It ran fine but started it this morning and it would stall when I took my foot off gas pedal

I would change your fuel filter. The mountains, and the sudden jerking would provide a great chance for the fuel to pull up any nasties, and then run them through the line.

2003 Merc Mountaineer AWD Grinding coming from left front tire. Tires, brakes, rotors all less than a year old, could it be a hub/bearing assembly or something different? Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Looks like a wheel bearing issue. If the wheel bearing is worn out you can expect a grinding sound. Wheel bearing replacement is strongly recommended.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Feel shake in the floor and steering wheel at around 70 mph and a slight turn on the steering wheel you can feel it a little more. what parts could cause this? already had the wheel balances checked.

Tierod ends. Bad belt in a tire. If you have a bumpy brake pedal, a warped rotor has enougn play to bounce against pads. Also Hub bearings were known to fail after 35,000 miles.

For Hub bearings there may be a Service Bulletin, but your vehicle is going on 10 years old. Usually the side that shakes the most on a opposite curve is the problem side. As in left curve the outside right tire is spinning slightly faster, right side curve its the left side spinning faster.

1998 Mercury Mountaineer wheel bearing What tools are needed to change the front wheel bearing on a four wheel drive.

2x2 = nothing special since they are old fashion tapered bearings

4x4 = nothing special again BUT the wheel bearing is part of the hub assembly!

Lost manual to Bell wireless bicycle computer

Here are some things the book doesn't tell you:
You have to completely reset the speedometer and lose your odometer to reset the MPH. Hold both buttons for 3 secs to get reset. (Remember to use the left button to walk through the setup process and use the right button to change the settings.) First set the wheel size using Ideluna's settings above on this page (right button to change the setting and left button to go to next number). Next is MPH/KPH, after wheel size setting, push left button again and km flashes. Push right button to change the setting to MI. Next is TIME. Push left button and you'll see the time. Hold down left button till 24hr appears. Push right button to change to 12hr. Then push left button to go to flashing hour. Change with right button. Then left button to go to flashing minute. Right button to change minute, hold down to change minutes fast. Now you are set up. Now the process changes, use the right button to walk through the menu and use the left button to reset. Don't push both buttons anymore unless you want to reset everything again. If you want to reset something just hold the left button down until 0. When you are in SCAN mode, push the right button to go to Time, To go back to SCAN once, hold the right button down - It will scan everything once and return to TIME. To go to ODO, push right button once, push again for DST, push again for MXS, push again for AVS, push again for TM, push again for SCAN to stay in SCAN.
