Ifyour mobile phoneis lost or stolen you can inform your cell phone provider with your IMEInumber. Your cell phone provider can then put the serial number on a shareddatabase. This list stops this particular phone from registering on any networkand will be useless for anyone even if the mobile phone's SIM cardis changed.I suggest you contact your cell phone providerASAP. If the cell phone has been lost or stolen then it may be locked to prevent further use otherwise the owner will be paying for phone calls that he or she did not make. Inserting a new SIM card from a new cell phone service provider may work provided the cell phone is not locked to a particular cell phone service provider.
Contact the nearest nokia care center and give your IMEI number to lock the cellphone. Also keep the billing details ,because sometimes they will ask for the proof for checking that the cellphone really belongs to you. If,you have a sim card inserted in that cellphone, also try locking that SIM card by contacting the service provider inorder to safeguard from misuse.
