I know there is yellow for constant hot (+) and red (+) ignition on and black (-) negative. The ignition on (+) hooks up to the receivers wiring harness that used to turn on your old head unit when the key is switched on. This ensures you don't discharge your battery leaving your unit turned on when you remove the key from the ignition switch. The constant hot (+) supplies positive current constantly even when you switched off the unit. It uses a small amount of electricity for it's memory function (saved favorite radio stations, clock and your settings). If it looses power, your saved settings will be deleted and it will start up in it's default setting

From your units wiring harness there will be a Remote Turn On wire, this is different so don't confuse yourself with it. I think it's a blue wire about 16ga in size. It's purpose is to supply positive current to any accessory you add (amplifier, equalizer, sound processor and similar equipment) that is powered the same time you switch your units power control.

Hello, Typically your common wire will be white, high speed- black, medium speed- yellow, medium low-blue, red- low. The motor could still run for a short time if it was wired wrong but will either trip a breaker or go off on it;s overload when it's gets hot.

I am hooking up the stereo and I know I have power coming to the wires cause the black and yellow ones spark but when I hook them to the stereo I don't get any power

The yellow wire is the constant wire, you need to find the battery + wire which will be red and hooked that to your deck, the red wire is the main 12v wire and the yellow wire is there just to use a little bit of power to keep the memory i yur deck, i.e. the time, cd position stuff like that

Stereo help

Make sure the red wire on the unit is hooked up to power. The blue antenna wire is hooked up (or to the factory amplifier) and the yellow wire on the radio is hooked up to a key on power supply. If it works and you lose the memory when you shut the key off, switch the red and yellow wire power supplies.

WIRING DIAGRAM

red is ignition power, or power when you turn the key on. yellow is all time power. yellow keeps power all the time, this keeps your presets and clock settings saved. black is ground. once you have then hooked up you will be able to figure out your speaker wires by trail and error, they my be green/green black, purple/purple black, white/white black, ect, but these are your speakers. Once you get the power on it should be no problem to figure out the speaker wires.

New cd player made in china

The yellow wire does not get used unless you have a power antenna to hook it to. The red wire is suppose to be hooked to the wire that was used as power for the stock stereo, so it turns on and off with the key. If you have it hooked to constant power, it has power coming to it even when it's turned off. That and the fact that you may need a better ground is most likely the reason you're getting the moise even when turned off. You may also want to check your speaker connections.

Re sent wire diagram gat all messed up

Hi
have we spoke before in previous post?
the red can go to any 12v live peramanent such as wire to clock or other item that has power with ignition off and the same with the yellow if your putting these to the same permanent live say from clock you can join these to together red/yellow to red on clock
the black can go to any metal or neg wire.
This should then have your device working the only problem im looking at for you now is the pink wire as this stops you using the device whilst driving as it goes to handbrake but i need to find out if its live or negative.
You could just wire the red/yellow to live and black to earth then see if it switches on and works if not then let me know and ill see about the pink wire ok
Makes sure you use inline fuses on the live wires so as not to short the device out.
Make sure you know what is permanent live to put the yellow/red wire to.
It doesnt need to be ignition it only says this so you cant use it with ignition off but you can wire it into any live feed from clock or switches so its up to you what to wire it to its just the pink wire im concerned about.

PINK: does it tell you to put it to live or earth on handbrake switch?

let me know ok
