Sorry about the late response. These units are sealed at the factory and opening them up for the first time is a bit of work. Make sure that all the screws are out of the unit and using a large screwdriver, carefully pry up one side. It will be difficult. Apply steady pressure and the back will eventually free up.

Replace fuse on the SRM450

You just take out all the screws from the back and remove it carefully, there you'll find fuse near by the power plug.
Check amperage (I think it is 4Amp fuse) and replace it

Hi there, I am after a replacement 'right hand' handle for an SRM450. Can you tell me where I can buy one online? Cheers, Andrew

I'm sure you can get them from Mackie. They have free parts manuals at their site, but I didn't see one for the SRM-450. They do list email and phone technical support. I would drop them a note or give them a call and I'm sure they can take care of your problem:
Their contact info is on this site: http://www.mackie.com/scripts/contact_support.asp
Hope this helps

When turned on: srm450 has no sound, but all leds (power and signal) is normal. If I turn the volume up (near maximum) , the srm450 sound is activatet again , and peforms normally. I then turn volume down...

1 TAKE THE MAINS PLUG OUT
2 Unscrew the fixing screws on the back. (just the outside ones)
3 Take the back off and turn the amplifier circuit board to face you.
4 About 2" from the left and about 4" from the bottom you will see a sort of tab. pull it off gently and widen the 2 prongs slightly.
5 Put the jumper tab back on and re fit the amp.

Repair a Mackie SRM 450 Speaker The Speaker is making a crackling sound while playing. The sound keeps cracking up.

You probably need to replace the diaphragm. The diaphragm is located behind the back cap. Simply remove the back cap, remove the diaphragm, clean the voice coil gap with a piece of masking tape, install a new replacement diaphragm, reinstall the back cap. That it!
You can see videos on how to replace diaphragm at this link.
