If the box is a motorola leave the tv on turn the box off from the front of the box, push the menu button on the box and the service menu will come up. use the curser buttons to select HDMI settings. change the color type form 4:4:4 to RGB then push menu, then turn the set back on

I also have a Brand new Sony Bravia 52" LCD with Comcast Cable (motorola box). When switching between HD Channels sometimes the left side of the screen shows a smushed version of the new channel, and the right side is a frozen picture of the previous channel. I correct this by switching to a non HD channel and back. Cable or TV problem I wonder?
you have an issue with the digital or main control board, and if the unit is still under warranty the manufacturer will help locate someone nearby. (actually even if out of warranty it's still a good idea to use that service co. for the simple fact they have more exeperience with the tv's
I had the offset left issue for non-HD channels with my Panasonic 42" plasma, using Comcast HD cable box. Went into the configuration menu (to get there with the newer Comcast boxes, you have to turn the box off, then hit the menu button on the box immediately after). You will see on the menu a resolution (probably says 1080i), then below it a "4:3 override". Our said 480i. When I changed it to "none", so that it stayed 1080i, it worked! It also works by selecting 480p, but then the picture is stretched.
