79 will mean that your house will be 79 degrees inside, I would think you would rather 75 or lower number. The lower the number the colder you want the room to get and the harder the AC will have to work for you.

I would not set it at 66 as the thermostat is sensing room air. the low side pressure will get low enough to form ice on coil.
