Re: PF signal comes on, and dishwasher stops running
PF = Power Failure, did you make sure outlet is ok and not a loose plug? Any short in outlet will do that, OR a loose wire at the motor to the dishwasher. UNPLUG unit and look under it for a gray box that the plug leads from. One or 2 screws will remove that box and verify all wires are connected properly.. MAKE sure unit is UNPLUGGED

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB4315LFC2, starts and then stops, and flashes a "PF" code when it stops. The "PF" code is stating that there has been a power failure. There could be a possibility that your dishwasher is losing power mid-cycle. I suggest checking your home's circuit breaker, the wiring to your dishwasher, and if you have a cut-off switch, checking that as well. I also suggest resetting your appliance, by shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.
Morning Doria, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Typically PF means power failure and you should be able to
start a cycle. Unplug the unit or flip the household circuit breaker. Wait
about ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. If the error code continues
to display, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose
and repair it.
Hello babe_dog01 - PF typically appears in window when dishwasher is first installed, or when power has been interrupted. HI-TEMP WASH, SANITIZE and START/CANCEL backlighting will also flash. To clear, touch START/CANCEL pad or resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. Since you have already done so and it was ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately. Dishwasher could possibly be experiencing a communication error, wiring failure or faulty control board.
OK I am not an expert but I have spent the last two weeks learning about and fixing my dishwasher! Hopefully I can save you a headache. Try the following:
* Flip the switch off and on in your breaker/circuit box. May reset your washer. * If that doesn't work, try running diagnostic/reset cycles by pressing heated dry -normal- heated dry or heated dry-sanitize-heated dry in sequence. If the cycles run fine, you will rule out a power, latch, motor/drying issue. It also may (hopefully) reset your system. * If normal function still does not resume, make sure your power (from the breaker box) is turned off and unscrew (with a star-shaped screwdriver bit - check your car emergency kit/toolbox, you may find you have it) and open the front button control panel and check all connections. Try carefully unplugging and replugging wires and look for any corrosion/moisture on the circuit board. * If that does not work, test the circuit board by unplugging the green ribbon cable from the control panel, reassembling with the ribbon cable unplugged, flipping your circuit back on and then closing the dishwasher door. If the drain motor runs, it will show you that there is still some function with the circuit board. Although it doesn't rule out the circuit board completely, it will point to a most likely control (button) panel issue and try replacing that. If the drain test does NOT run, it may be the circuit board that needs to be replaced.
"PF" generally means Power Failure. First, be sure that the door is latched tightly. Vibration may loosen the latch causing the unit to stop. Also check your circuit breaker. Flip it to the "tripped" position and firmly back to the "on" position.
If this model is an "electronic" unit (for example uses a touch pad for programming), there may be a loose connection somewhere in the wiring prior to or at the junction box under the dishwasher. The electric "noise" generated there might confuse the dishwasher's computer. Best to have an electrician look at this.
Your problem is: GE Nautilus Dishwasher suddenly stopped working. NOTHING!! it was fine one day then went kaput the next. I checked the plug in and the circuit breaker but still NOTHING
I run into this often. Ends up being loose, broken or burnt ellectrical connection in d/w junction box most of the time. It's under the d/w behind the kick plate on the right or center. Turn the power off first and remove the wire nuts. Replace wire nuts and/or repair wire ends as nessessary. Beyond that you're looking at a bad control board or failed connection in the unit.
