UPDATE VIA USB DRIVE Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
  1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Download the update file.
  3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
  4. Unzip the file. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
  5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your flash drive.
  6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
  7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
  8. Restart the console.
  9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

I would try this if it is having a issue connecting to the update.

If you are satisfied with this reply please thumbs up or write a testimonial good luck!

I have 2 Sony PS2 memory cards but neither will save data at breaks in games. Am I doing something wrong ? I am new to gaming and have followed instructions without success. Help!!!

It could be that they were damaged in someway or the memory slot in the PS2 is broken. I've been able to fix mine by blowing into both openings, the slot and the card, but if that doesn't work, check the game it self to see. Usually the game will say something like "Saving Data-Please Do Not Turn Off System Or Remove Memory Card". If it isn't saying that, it probably hasn't saved at all.

PS2 Action Replay MAX: PS2 can't read saves off a USB flash drive

Here are some instructions I came across when trying to find out how a regular usb drive could be used with AR. I don't want to purchase the MAX Drive either.
Hope this helps, I haven't been able to test this yet for myself.

"you can use ANY size, brand, and style of USB flash drive (I'm using my mp3 usb drive) as long as
1. it's plug and play and
2. you follow these semi-simple steps to format your flash drive so that your ps2 will see it.

1 insert drive onto computer
2 click on start/settings/control panel
3 go to administrative tools
4 double click on computer management
5 click on storage/disk management(local)
6 find your flash drive (BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT IT'S YOUR FLASH DRIVE)
7 right click on the area that says your flash drive's name AND has a blue stripe above it
*8 delete partition ((it will tell you that you'll lose all of your data stored on the drive)(hence why i said to make absolutely certain that the drive you're clicking on is in fact your usb flash drive)
9 right click on the now unallocated space where your drive was before
10 create new partition: in the popup it will give you some options; volume label, file system, allocation unit size, perform a quick format
11 volume label doesn't matter, file system has to be fat, allocation unit size has to be 16k, and you choose weather to quick format or not (I did just so you know)
12 after it's done just plug it into your ps2 usb port and away you go!!!!"

* - You may not have to delete the partition manually--I didn't. I just went right to the 'format' option when I right clicked on the area with the blue strip. All you really are trying to do is format your flash drive to FAT file system and allocation unit size of 16k. That's it!

I hope these instructions help someone out there. You DON'T have to buy the Action Replay flash drive in order to transfer files...your flash drive will work, but you have to be willing to reformat it to FAT (which WILL erase all of the files on it, so move them or back them up first BEFORE you click 'format')

When try to save it says create save file failed

You should try with another Memory card. Perhaps the one you're trying to use it Full, or has a bad chip in it. If it is doing it with other games as well, then Perhaps your PS2 has an issue. Try using the Other memory card slot. If none of these solutions works, try taking it to a friends and using their PS2. If this makes it work, then your PS2 has an issue. Contact Sony for repair and replacement options.

Bought a 2gig maxell flash pen and wanted to use it for storing my work on it but i cant seem to work it and i need to save my work on this flash pen can some one please help

If you are using Win98 the problem is the USB ports themselves. You must locate and install USB drivers to make them functional. Other than that the USB should reconise the flash pen after a few minutes.
Now if it see it, to store in the drive, Save the information to a file/folder and then right click and choose SEND TO and pick the letter drive that is your flash pen and that will do it. If you can do drag and drop open the window that has your info and open a window that shows your pen drive left click and hold it down a drag it to the pen drive - when you see the + just release the left click and it should be on the pen drive.
Hope this helps you, good luck, please leave a rating, thank you kindly

Ps2 usb doesnt work

Well the reason your USB won't work is probably from it being old. For most games that use USB run off of a program called FAT32. You need a new USB Flash, I recommend getting a new SanDisk a wal-mart for about 10-40 bucks. Those have FAT32.

I'm sorry to say but no one can solve this for you. Your only coarse of action is to go to the website that created the software ie. Action Replay Max or Code Breakers or Game Shark and check their flash drive compatibility lists. Reason I say this is, due to the limitations of certain versions of PS2's some flash drives will not work period. Where as some will only work with certain software. It's the same rule of thumb(pun intended :P) with hard drives. You're completely at the mercy of your PS2 and it's firmware. There are programs that are designed to help like USB advance and USB extreme that would make some drives work that would normally not, but you'll be wasting money if it doesn't work. I'ld start with the sites that make the code disks and see what they recommend you use, that woud be the best coarse of action.
