Question about Certance (CL1001-R) Ultrium Tape Drive
I am experiencing a problem with my backup on my ultrium 2 tape drive. Just a couple of weeks ago we were able to successfully backup our entire network on one 200/400GB tape drive. Now every morining it asks to load another 200/400GB tape drive. We've asked everyone to keep their personal space on the network relatively clean but we are still unable to get a full backup. My tape drive is 2.5 years old and should still be capable of completing a full backup on one tape. Has anyone experienced similar problems with there ultrium 2 tape drive?
Bet if you check, it is not overwritting the tape (appending) on the first tape, but will overwrite the second. Check the media properties to see. If it is this, it has probably had an update when it started going south....
Same problem here, on with Symantec about it...

Have you checked to see how much data is being backed up? Also what software are you using - it all depends on encryption
