Mitsubishi Desktop LCD Screen Off and On

While comp is on, the screen turns off and on sporadically and I don't know how to stop it. Not sure what the problem is.

For background, this has happened once before and I don't remember how it was solved. It might have just stopped on its own.

I also just reset a bunch of wires, i.e. rearranged which sockets the wires connected into. Nothing major.

Assuming you have Windows XP, try setting the resolution to 70hz. Go to Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Advanced --> Monitor. Click on the form box arrow and select 70hz. You may have to uncheck 'Hide modes..'.

Then again, it can be a loose wire or a short in one of the wires.
If you have a Flat panel LCD Monitor, I have a new cable I'll sell you for 0.99 (ebay price) plus shipping. My website is www.theclassytouch.com.

You don't say if it's a lcd or a laptop monitor. Either way it's a bad lcd if laptop or monitor if desktop. The only other thng is video card overheating due to overclocking or dust.

Monitor gets no signal

yes. it is almost positively the video card.
you can get a PCI video card and install that in an open slot.
if you don't need to play games, you don't need a fancy one, just a basic card.

SCREEN FROZE TRIED TOREBOOT HARD DRIVE WILL NOT TURN ON

Ok well try actually turning off the computer not using the hardboot button but the wires are connected to a power strip or surge protector right? Well on those there is a switch which you can press and it stops any electricity from flowing into your computer which shuts down your comp. Also many people don't know but when you "turn of your computer" it's really on standby because when you press that button it is waiting for that to be pressed. The only way to fully shut down your computer is to stop all electricity from flowing to the computer. Hope that helped :)

Screen does not stay on it just flashes on every four sec

Sounds like the refresh rate of your video adapter is set incorrcetly, especially if the monitor is new to the system. CRT monitors could handle a wider rate range than the current LCD's.

The next time it starts working correctly, go to "display settings" and check the "monitor" tab. For a LCD monitor, the refresh rate should be between 60 and 72. Experiment with the different rate settings to optimize your display.

Hope this helps

Desktop will not load up

The computer should be fine, make sure there is no dust covering the fan or inside the computer. If not you can use the recovery disc that came with the computer, or a Windows XP cd to fix your installation, if that is the problem.
