Mitsubishi Desktop LCD Screen Off and On

While comp is on, the screen turns off and on sporadically and I don't know how to stop it. Not sure what the problem is.

For background, this has happened once before and I don't remember how it was solved. It might have just stopped on its own.

I also just reset a bunch of wires, i.e. rearranged which sockets the wires connected into. Nothing major.

Assuming you have Windows XP, try setting the resolution to 70hz. Go to Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Advanced --> Monitor. Click on the form box arrow and select 70hz. You may have to uncheck 'Hide modes..'.

Then again, it can be a loose wire or a short in one of the wires.
If you have a Flat panel LCD Monitor, I have a new cable I'll sell you for 0.99 (ebay price) plus shipping. My website is www.theclassytouch.com.

Monitor gets no signal

yes. it is almost positively the video card.
you can get a PCI video card and install that in an open slot.
if you don't need to play games, you don't need a fancy one, just a basic card.

Keeps turning off

Make sure the VGA cable is plugged in all the way and screwed down. These units were made in 2002 so it may just be too old to go on. A repair would probably cost more than a new or used flat screen LCD.

HDTV CABLE NOT HOOKED UP/WORKING

COMP 1 and 2 are for 480i/p sources. Hook it to the 1080i capable on the back. Also make sure the HD DVR is outputting 1080i not 720p. The Mits can not disply 720p and will show a scrambled screen if you try to.

What can i do? my laptop screen wont turn on.? the comp turns on, but the screen wont. it has power/battery. works normal, no virus. slow system. but sometime it works. and sometime the screen doesnt turn...

- Try using a desktop monitor and check if the issue still persist, If the issue is not happening on the desktop monitor .It maybe the LCD.
- Check If you can download some manuals of your system and try to check if you can follow the instruction on how to reseat lcd cables inside your laptop. If you can do it it will help us isolate the issue.

Vertical red line in display

I had a similar problem with a flat screen lcd for my desktop comp, and it turned out that I needed a new screen if i wanted to get rid of it, but it doesnt really cause much of a problem, so i didnt bother replacing it. If your laptop is still under warranty, (i dont know how long your warranty lasts) I'd look into getting it replaced if it really bothers you. But yes, its definitly the screen.

Mymonitor is black and the on button from the monitor is green and is flashing

i havent seen this question asked, and believe me i have searched. i have compaq presario, windows xp media edition 2005, 64 amd processor, model # SR2017CL, with HP 1703 17" monitor. Prob-put computer in hibernate mode other evening, without turning it off. when i woke up, screen had diagonal lines going across it. i rebooted, well manually restarted, since comp would not respond.
Message comes up white with black writing, essentially, prob with active desktop, restore or turn off. i tried to turn off and screen went back to diag. lines. looks like the horizontal hold of a tv screen is asque. tried adjusting monitor to no avail.
tried a few more times, was fine for a few mins then went to same thing. now when i turn monitor on it blinks red, blue, and so on.
just whole screen that color. so i am at the point where i dont
know if its the comp or the monitor. (i am quite a newby)
ty for any help you can give

Screen

Sound like you have a bad power inverter inside the monitor. These can usually be replaced on laptop screens, but I have never seen the parts to do it on a desktop LCD screen ( eBay might be a good shot), but your best bet would be to send it to the manufacturer for repair.

Good Luck,
Matt
