There is a loud humming noise coming from front left side. When I turn around, back up, or make a sharp turn, the car loses a lot of power.

I would start by checking your wheel bearings. Do this by pushing back and forth on the top of your tire or car near the tire. If the tire wobbles back and forth at all your hub assembly should be replaced. For this problem I would check for this first.

Recently noticed when driving over 40mph, I hear a loud humming like tire tread noise, coming from the front. When I'm turning right it gets worse. Turn left and it virtually vanishes. Is this the...

yes.this means the left wheel bearing is bad, because when you turn right the pressure is pushing down on the left wheel causing noise and when you turn left the pressure then pushes down on the right side removing pressure from the left side causing noise to stop.. this is why when you turn one way or the other the noise stops and starts.

Could be either a loose belt or you are low on power steering fluid,or the power steering pump could just be worn out.

Loud humming noise from front end of Durango 4 x 4

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.
