does it turn over when you pull start it?you said it wont turn it seized?..put your thumb in the carbi venturi[hole] and pull start, then remove thumb.will it fire?is the plug wet.?how old is the fuel?put ffresh fuel in,after tipping old stuff out.renew spark plug.doesnt take much for plugs in small motors to get fouled.they should not be cleaned.renew..

Check your fuel lines for cracks carb screen (if it has one) or jets might be clogged , also, I have a husk 350, fired only with gas in the carb, would not run at all just start and off. would not fire at all without doing that. the head bolts were little lose. I tightened them down put it back together, and that was the problem.

Homelite chainsaw will not start model #UT10822

Yep...You will also need to install at least a GND (gasket and diaphragm) kit if not a full carburetor repair kit. The fuel filter is probably clogged by now too. You may need to replace the fuel line(s).

I tookthe chain cover off of my homelite ut10560 and a small pin fell out of it. Now i dont know where it goes. any help?? thanks!!!

The chain bar usually sits on a pin to position it in place on a chainsaw. Is yours there? If it is and the bar appears to be installed correctly, does the chain saw work as normal?

Homelite xl chainsaw won't start. I took out spark plug, put in some fuel and if fired right up. But won't run.

You need to clean out the carb. possibly replace the Needle Valve and check the Diaphram for stiffness. Also check the fuel line for cracks and rott.

My cutoff saw won't start, compression is good, has oil/gas mix, gets spark from wire but sparkplug was dirty so i cleaned it and she still won't turn over

If the saw briefly runs when you prime the carb and/or cylinder with gas then most likely fuel is not getting thru the carb. Try rebuilding the carb and replacing the fuel filter first. You can also search on youtube and google for troubleshooting tips.

Will not start or pop even on ether Has spark and good plug. How do I check compression? and are rings replacable

You can buy a inexpensive compression test gauge at any auto parts store. I prefer the ones that have a fitting that screws directly into spark plug opening.Hook it up and pull on start cord then read pressure on gauge. It should be at least 120 p.s.i. and hold pressure until you release it. If pressure won't hold then you either have bad valve or rings. You can get replacement parts by having name brand model number and serial number if you can find it.Without knowing what the saw is I can't be more specific on where to get parts. Thank you

Hi chuckbjr44,
Have you checked the compression ?The way to do that is take the plug out and ground the plug wire by tying it out of the way so that it touches on some metal .Use a compression gauge while a friend pulls the rope.It sounds like rings to me. Thank you for using Fix Ya. ps you can a local repair shop for the specs on the right compression for your saw.

I have homelite UT10560 chain saw. The problem I have is it will start and run when cold. But if the saw shuts off it is very hard to start again. What is the trick to start when saw has been runing...

Make sure you have control set on run,not choke or start. Check spark aresstor by removing exhaust cover and cleaning screen of carbon and oil build up with spray carburater cleaner and fine wire brush. Also remove gas cap and make sure that vent hole in cap is open.Otherwise it can draw a vacumn after being ran for awile and be very hard to start. One last thing is make sure that spark plug gap is correct and that there are no hairline cracks in porcelin insulation. Best of luck. Thank you.
