We replaced my car battery, now all it does is flash!

Hi.

You need to enter the car stereo anti-theft code. The procedure is illustrated in the car or in the stereo user manual (depending if stereo is factory one).
The stereo code is also printed in car documentation.
Details on how to enter the code depend on car stereo make and model (or on car make and model).
The stereo code is unique, if you have lost the code you may need to pay a small fee to recover the code.
If you have lost the code, the unlock job can also be done for a small fee at the nearest car dealer.

Hi All, I have a peugeot 206 and when I enter my four digit code into radio everything OK until I turn off ignition, then I have to input number again. Is there something else I have to do to stop this...

It looks as though the "permanent battery" feed to your radio is missing.

There are 2 battery supplies to your radio ; the main one via the ignition switch that switches the radio on/off and the permanent battery feed that supplies battery to the radio memory.

Check your fuses and connections at the rear of the radio

It won't wont eject or play cd's

Hi.

Try pressin repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

Regards.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

I have a stereo of Cavalier 2002 but it shows ''LOC'' in the display. Can somebody help me to clear this lock. What could be bad on it?

your stereo is locked. your battery drained and clock memory was lost to radio. a simple fix can be found on this forum but they charge 4.99 or so to help. they dealer will cost 50 + so 5 bucks is worthit.

i am sorry you had to go threw this. positive side you will have the code so it will not be a problem in the future for you.

they radios of modern cars employ so called anti theft mechanisms, but in reality they are designed to cost us money to get things working normal again. this is by the way the only device on your car that is lockable by the power failure

good luck with it. and a little tip: they sell a 9 volt battery maintainer used by professional stereo installers to keep clock memory voltage on the radio so this doesn't happen when you need to disconnect your battery again. i would highly suggest getting one. they are fairly cheap and will prvent you from having any major issues in the future when you need to replace or disconnect your cars battery again.

Stereo Code required for Mazda 323 Protege SP 2002

The dealer should be able to get your code from the dealers database. I'm pretty sure they hold the car chassis # and radio code from the original sale on the DB. This may cost you cash.

Otherwise, looks like you'll have to go to a Mazda dealer and have a "hard reset" performed on the radio. This will cost you cash!(unless you know someone)

Regards

Philip

P.S. Most dealers in Europe don't charge.

When battery power is removed and later applied to a
secured radio, the radio won’t turn on and LOC will
appear on the display.

Unlocking the Theft-Deterrent Feature After a
Power Loss
Enter your secret code as follows; pause no more than
15 seconds between steps:
1. Turn the ignition on. LOC will appear on the display.
2. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
3. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree
with your code.
4. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree
with your code.
5. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the
code matches the secret code you have written down.
The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is
now operable and secure.
If you enter the wrong code eight times, INOP will
appear on the display. You will have to wait an hour with
the ignition on before you can try again. When you try
again, you will only have three chances to enter the
correct code before INOP appears.
If you lose or forget your code, contact your dealer.
Disabling the Theft-Deterrent Feature
Enter your secret code as follows; pause no more than
15 seconds between steps:
1. Turn the ignition to ACCESSORY or RUN.
2. Turn the radio off.
3. Press the 1 and 4 buttons together. Hold them down
until SEC shows on the display.
4. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
5. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree
with your code.
6. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree
with your code.
7. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the
code matches the secret code you have written down.
The display will show ---, indicating that the radio
is no longer secured.
If the code entered is incorrect, SEC will appear on the
display. The radio will remain secured until the correct
code is entered.
Theft-Deterrent Feature (If Equipped)
THEFTLOCK is designed to discourage theft of your
radio. It works by using a secret code to disable all radio
functions whenever battery power is removed.
The THEFTLOCK feature for the radio may be used or
ignored. If ignored, the system plays normally and the
radio is not protected by the feature. If THEFTLOCK is
activated, your radio will not operate if stolen.
When THEFTLOCK is activated, the radio will display
LOC to indicate a locked condition anytime battery
power has been interrupted. If your battery loses power
for any reason, you must unlock the radio with the secret
code before it will operate.
Activating the Theft-Deterrent Feature
The instructions which follow explain how to enter
your secret code to activate the THEFTLOCK system.
It is recommended that you read through all nine steps
before starting the procedure.
If you allow more than 15 seconds to elapse between
any steps, the radio automatically reverts to time and
you must start the procedure over at Step 4.
1. Write down any three or four-digit number from
000 to 1999 and keep it in a safe place separate
from the vehicle.
2. Turn the ignition to ACCESSORY or RUN.
3. Turn the radio off.
4. Press the 1 and 4 buttons together. Hold them down
until --- shows on the display. Next you will use the
secret code number which you have written down.
5. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
6. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree
with your code.
7. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree
with your code.
8. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the
code matches the secret code you have written down.
The display will show REP to let you know that you
need to repeat Steps 5 through 7 to confirm your
secret code.
9. Press AM-FM and this time the display will show
SEC to let you know that your radio is secure.
The LED indicator by the volume control will begin
flashing when the ignition is turned off.
