Question about Cell Phones

Nokia 6085 is frozen

I just bought a new Nokia 6085. I have not damaged it in any way-but now, I cannot go past the screen that must have been on when the battery died. At first, i thought, it was because the battery just needed to charge for awhile before i could really do anything with the phone, but now that the battery is charged, it still wont let me past the frozen image of the number 9 being dialled.No matter what I do..(which isn't a lot, I'm afraid. I'm not exactly tech savvy)  I can't get past it. Can someone please tell me what the problem could be?
Thanks :)

Thanks for that :) I should have added that I have tried taking the battery out and inserting back it into the mobile as well as turning it on and off. It's kind of working now, but on the odd occasion it will do it again. grrr...

Back up your contacts now! Mine did the same thing months ago and I thought nothing of it. I rarly turn off my phone. The 2nd time I turned off my phone which was 7 months after I got it I turned it back on and it took an extremly long time to boot up. Usualy after like 5 minutes that first time it came on. This time, nothing! Just a white screen with the batter meter.

I have tried turning it back on without my sim card and it boots to the main screen. I have a reminder that goes off and I exited out of that. Problem is after that the keys do not work so I can not do anything.

I got a new replacement phone but since the keys are not responsive the phone rep could not put the phone into Nokia mode to transfer my contacts and everything else to the replacement phone!

I do not know what to do. I need my contacts. They upsold me the backup service only AFTER this **** is happening.

I feel my provider is responsible for this since they did transfer my contacts from my old provider's phone to the new one which is now a brick!

Help! :-( Half my contacts are on the phone and the other half are on the Sim card. The ones on the Sim card i am really not that concerned about it is the other ones! :-(

    Little help. Thanks!

Oh and my provider says I have 10 days to return the broke phone or they will charge me $60 bucks for it! I paid for the damn thing already :-(

I am really at a loss here. I need my contacts. Can a phone carrier be liable for this since they originaly transfered my information from my previous phone on a previous network to this piece of **** and now that I addeed contacts and used the phone unaware it was a junk phone?

As you can see. This site is a scam. No one will help unless you pay. They say they will and it will take 24 hours but they don't. Even customer service is automated and it takes close to 72 hours.

I have tried that Otacon. The same thing happens. Sometimes I can get into the menus without the sim card but without that it will not let me view my contacts.

Try taking the battery out for a few minutes. Then put it back in and try to turn on.

Take it to a phone technician and have the "ribbon" replaced. This part is located in the hinge of the phone. A common problem with flip type phones.

My cell phone screen dont work

You most likely need a new ribbon cable, which is the cable that connects the two halves of the phone. They are not expensive and can be ordered on eBay, and they come with the tools required to disassemble the phone and replace the cable.
