Question about HP Pavilion TX1000Z Notebook PC

1 Answer

My computer will not boot up.

I broke my power cord a while back and just got it replaced. I turned on my computer, got on facebook and started updating my virus software and checking up on my PC Health. All of a sudden my computer locked up, i couldnt move my mouse or anything so I unplugged it and took out the battery. When i tried to restart it, it wouldn't start, it shows that there is power to it and all the lights are lit up but the screen remains black. I have no way of logging onto my computer. How can I fix this?

Ask at yet,? we are not them.
tx1000z circa 2008 running what OS? VISTA? that is what came with it.
if it dont run and boot and fan blow , with just the power pack
no bat. out, leave it out.
then the pack is :
1: bad.
2: weak or wrong pack
3: wrong voltage pack 19vdc is correct.
4: bought toy sized cheaper pack and is TOO LOW WATTS.
the LED's do not mean much at all, only when it runs perfect do lights matter, and LED can glow at 2v, but not the PC< sorry no way.
so what does matter, sure.?
things that must work in the correct order...
1: the fan blows at power on, does it is it packed in lent all vents/ .
2: does it beep or flash LEDs, any? flashing if yes and what code.
my BIOS key is ESC, learn what yours is at

3: the next is the BIOS key most work or there is no power or the screen died. does and external VGA work plugged in at the rear?
the screen must show something, when turned on, most print to the screen text like Press ESC to setup BIOS. or the like.
all do, if not messed with. (inside BIOS you can turn this off)
so power on. he the esc key (if that is yours) and tap it over and over
and bam you get a huge BIOS screen, best it to do this before a pC does dead, so you know what to do ....
on my HP the keys are ESC, F9 (boot order) f11 reload OS.
and more. the manual on your PC shows all this... oops yours is older and has old key hot keys.

here is you HP page. on this
its F10, I guess.
it tells you hear its display on screen to press F10
does it? if not , out comes my VGA desktop PC and connect to laptop VGA port and push hot key Fn, to activate it, after power on,
then lool, to see if the eternal screen is working. now.
if yes, the Lap top screen is dead.
if both are dead, the PC is very sick, and I dont teach the whole
A+ class here, get a tech to fix it. has whole troubleshooting guides at read em?
seen here, top of list. see it?

"checking up on my PC Health"

did you know 9/10 sites that promise this
are really malware sites, or worse.
first ask how to check heath before doing that.

    if infected to go
and get the standalone portable, AV scanner.
it's just a program that runs neat, it does not install the great ESET AV on board.

it finds some many infections, it's quite amazing. beats the to 5 for sure.
    then malwarebytes, from them direct
if you download a top program from not the authors web site you will be infected. I promise.

yes, the web is now that bad.

also good is CCLEANer from maker.
from Piriform direct, no where else.

if you have a hdd, you can run defrag
    if SSD you cant.
you can run MS check disk
you can run in a cmd.exe box,
    SFC /scan now.

but I digress, off your , event message.

SOURCE: Hp pavilion dv9000 wont boot, coloured lines appear no bootscreen

This is caused by burn out of the Nvidia graphics chip on the motherboard. You need a new motherboard. This is due to a design flaw (the subject of a class action against HP in the USA). I have had two motherboards fail on me in this way so far - do not expect any worthwhile support from the HP "support" people they are all in India and can hardly communicate outside of their simple repetative scripts. Its impossible to escape them - I tried communicating with head office but all you get is contact details back to the incomprehensible Indian call centre. I strongly recommend against ever purchasing from HP again.

Follow the instruction below>>>>

Remove the power cord from the back of the computer. Then open the side casing of the tower and unplug the 24 pin block connector from the motherboard. The 24 pin block connector looks like this >>>>>

Once removed press the on/off button on the computer to dispel and residual power from the motherboard.
Then connect the block connector again and put the side panel back on and then plug the power cord back in and try to boot the computer up.

If its still the same then the power supply inside the computer may need replacing.

I left it on last night. This morning it was off

check your power cord to insure that you are getting power. make sure power cord is plug in the back.
look in back of computer. you will see a little orange switch. it says 115/220 click to 220. boot computer.
if computer boots up turn off and click back over to 115.
if it does not boot your power supply in your computer needs replacement.

Tower problems

You may need to replace the cmos battery, its a cr2032 3v button cell
Make sure all your expansion cards and memory are reseated.
Make sure all cables are reseated.
your power supply could be bad

If that doesn't work try this

Here is my fix for the dell dimension 4400 amber light problem. It works!
replace cmos battery.
then unplug power cord form wall about 5-10 secs.
then plug it back in, wait 5 secs.
If amber light comes on, press and hold power button until it goes out.

(with light out, press and hold power button while amber light comes on and goes off again holding power button 2-3 secs after light goes out.) repeat whats in parenthesis until computer turns on
it should only take about 6, 7 tries.

After the computer boots, you may want to setup cmos or boot into windows.
After you shutdown, unplug power cord for 5-10 secs then plug it back in.
Press and hold the power button, computer should come on.
I found that's the only way to turn on the computer.
If you shutdown and don't unplug power cord the computer may not boot, mine didn't.
Strange I'd say

Auto hibernated, will not power back up

It's possible that the laptop is stuck thinking it should be resuming from standby but cannot find the data in memory. Remove the battery, unplug the power cord, and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds. Then plug JUST the power cord back in and try to boot the system. If you still get no response then it's possible that one of your RAM sticks is going bad. With the battery and power cord removed try removing both sticks of RAM. Then try to boot the system again with only the power cord in use and no RAM installed. See if you get some sort of response from the BIOS. Hold down the power button to turn the computer off again, remove the power cord, and then try booting the system with just one of the memory sticks installed. If you can isolate one of the sticks as causing the failed boot, then that stick is most likely faulty.
