Trouble with my Alpine CDE7826E cd player not playing....

I'm having trouble with my Alpine CDE7826E cd player ( it is a few years old now but worked perfectly in the past but won't now in my new car ) where I can put in a brand new never played CD and it either ejects it immediately or it keeps it loaded but takes F O R E V E R to actually start the cd and then when you try to skip from one song to another particular track it just seems to not be able to find the start of that track so it just spins and spins and spins forever.....

How can I fix this please ???? because I'm ready to take to it with a very large hard hammer !!!

Please help

It is possible that your cd plyer is not reading the data from the disc. this could be possible if the optical head is faulty. First of all open the head unit, open the top and use a good swab to carefully clean the lens of the optical head, you will need to look carefully, do not give any pressure but just a soft wipe, if the lens had been dirty , this would clear the fault. Loaad and check if tafter loading the tracks are read. if not, look for the spindle for any dirt,if the spindle height had been changed or reduced , correct if you are careful, if all these seems right, then I ma afraid you have a deffective/weak head. It is possible to take a trimming but will require great care. Change tthe optical if you think the cost is acceptable., only with an original!! hope this helps. Good day

We have a Sharp cd player - 5 discs and its playing up and not playing the discs properly. we think it needs a service - itsabout 9 years old. How would we go aboutgetting it seen to and about how mu

As long as it is playing and not giving any trouble, leave it as it is. If it is in a room where people also smoke, it could be possible you have to clean the laser. There are special CD's, with a little brush glued on its surface. Don't try to make it yourself.
When you put it in a cd player, a voice tells you to plat trac 12 or so and there it will play for a few seconds, cleaning dust from the lens of the laser.

If the player does have real trouble, go to a repairshop and ask what it will cost. On Ebay, look what a replacement will cost and decide what you want. Repair or replacement.

The picture shows the little brus on my cleaning CD.

Hold is on and nothing will will work how do i turn off hold on a alpine cda-7892 cd player

Try resetting it. Also if it won't reset using the reset button found behind the faceplate. Take off the negative battery cable under the hood this should reset everthing. Then replace it. If it is old and the motor is having trouble kicking the cd out then stick a used no good cd in on top of the other cd and use it to apply pressure to the cd in the player then pull it out after pressing eject

Cd plays, but no sound

Disconnect the blue wire from the back of the radio and connect the blue/white wire in its place. This should fix your problem.
