Question about Mag Innovision lt456s 14" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Resolution I have had this monitor for over 3 years. I have changed my computer a couple of times and I have never had a problem with it. Now it is hooked to a e-machine desktop (Model T3612) since last June. The resolution on the monitor has always been on the high side. For the last couple of weeks I am having problem with the resolution ---- it changes from 1260*760 to 800*600 on its own. When you try to change it to the high resolution a message pops up saying VGA mode not acceptable. Some times when you reboot the machine the monitor displays a high resolution.

When booting up my windows is loading and then my screen goes black and come up with an error: recomended resolution is 1280x1024... how do I fix this?

Most probably your computer has a higher resolution or refresh frequencies set in Desktop Settings than supported by the monitor. It might be also, that you have previously installed a monitor driver for a different monitor model, and the computer is using resolutions and frequencies supported by that previous monitor, with which your new one can't cope.
The solution would be to boot the computer in safe mode (hit F8 key when the computer is starting, you can hit it a couple of times, until you see a menu; choose "Safe Mode" and hit Enter).
Go to Desktop Properties, change to Settings tab, and click "Advanced" button. In the new window choose "Monitor" tab and change the monitor to "Plug and Play monitor". Click OK to accept the settings and close both windows.
Now reboot the computer - it should start with a rather low resolution, but the picture should be visible. Now you have to go to your Desktop Settings again, Advanced tab, and move the resolution slider to position 1280x1024. Accept and enjoy.
If the computer still doesn't boot, go to safe mode again, go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, drill down to Monitors, and delete all the monitor devices installed. After a reboot, system should start up and find new hardware, and install Plug and Play monitor. Set the optimum resolution of 1280x1024 as written before.

How to change input timing without a monitor

you will not able to do it without a monitor. you'll need to get another montior in order to change the settings on computer. you need to change the resolution on that computer. sounds like the resolution is either too big or too small that it will not display it.

Viewsonic VA720 LCD 17'' monitor LED light blinking, no display

there is atleast a 5 year difference between your computers. Technology has made a huge jump from back then, especially in graphics cards!!! that LCD was probably made after your computer, alot after your computer as a matter of fact. So it is your graphics card. get a new computer, its time to update

HP W1907 Monitor goes black after resolution change

This is normal, but it should only take less than a minute for your computer to readjust, make sure all your graphic card drivers are updated, for that may be a factor.

Wont work with new computer

Since this was a new out of the box computer, Safe Mode was not allowed. In order to change monitor settings (resolution), I had to use another monitor, in this case a newer CRT. With the CRT, the computer booted up, no problem. Once booted, I turned down the monitor resolution and saved. Now when the Princeton LCD was plugged in and the computer restarted, everything works fine. Now the resolution could be set to limits of the monitor.

Proview PRO576 error message "mode not supported" and will show nothing else

Okay, we got a fix by having another monitor hooked up to our computer and going in to display and changing the display settings to a lower setting. The screen resolution - turn it to lower - I guess somehow - the setting was too high for our monitor. Don't know how it changed itself though. Anyway, change it to a lower resolution then re-hook up your monitor and see if it works. The reslution can be pushed back up until you notice the problem again.

Horizontal lines on my monitor

I have a similar problem with a 2 year old Samsung monitor. I have tried to make a screen dump of it, but the horizontal lines do not show up then. This I have read indicates that the problem is in the monitor and not the video card.

LCD problems... Can you help me?

it has nothing to do with your computer, if you put the monitor on a different computer it will do the same thing. the message comes directly from the monitor itself. you have to keep your screen resolution at 1280 x 1024

Screen width keeps changing

This is a hardware problem. There's a high wattage resistor inside which normally gets quite hot. Eventually this resistor desolders itself due to heat and breaks the circuit. Any repair-shop can fix this by re-soldering mentioned resistor (it is easy to distinguish it by its brownish color) using a suitable solder or by replacing this resistor by a more powerful one. Another workaround is to change a video mode to, say, 1280x960 or 1152x864 (while in these modes, monitor circuit bypasses the said resistor).
