Resolution

I have had this monitor for over 3 years. I have changed my computer a couple of times and I have never had a problem with it. Now it is hooked to a e-machine desktop (Model T3612) since last June. The resolution on the monitor has always been on the high side.
For the last couple of weeks I am having problem with the resolution ---- it changes from 1260*760 to 800*600 on its own. When you try to change it to the high resolution a message pops up saying VGA mode not acceptable. Some times when you reboot the machine the monitor displays a high resolution.
