Your best bet will be Ebay. There are a lot of older game system peripherals to be found.

How to fix a stuck button on game gear

This is an easy fix. Open the Game Gear by removing the back panel. Take off the front panel, and the buttons and pads will come up. Remove the pads and buttons and clean the pads, buttons with alcohol, to remove the dirt and gunk around the buttons and pads . When finished replace the cover. Test the system. If the pads do not respond to the game, the pads may be worn down and may need replacing. There is a website called Ifixit that has the parts for the Game Gear. Go to ifixit.com to get the parts. Or go to Sega.com for help. Also call 1-800-872-7342. This is the number for SEGA . Hope this information helps.

Control pad

Control pad's are generally all or nothing devices, they either work or they're dead. However with a console of this vintage there are a few things that can cause this kind of issue and therefor a couple things you can do to try and resolve it. 1: Clean the serial ports and plugs (the ports and plugs that connect the pads to the console) with an air duster. Air dusters are cans of compressed air with a long nozzle and are available from most computer, electronics and hardware stores. Clean both serial ports even if you're only using one. 2: if cleaning doesn't work try unplugging the power cable, removing the console's casing and touching a hot soldering iron to the base of each of the pins that connect the serial ports to the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) in tern to re-solder them without using any extra solder, if you find that you do need more solder be sparing. You can see a pictorial guide to disassembling a Sega Genesis here www.takeitapart.net/archives/sega-genesis/ click the pictures to see a larger image. Lastly if you know anyone else who's in to retro-gaming swap a control pad with them to see if your pad works on there Sega Genesis and there pad works on yours. If you find the pad actually is dead it's not the end of the world, there are a few around on popular auction sites, retro gaming sites and specialist game stores pretty cheaply.

The down button on my Sega Master System controllers won't work when they are plugged into the first controller port (Fine on the second). I have already taken apart the system and tried to clean up...

Hey there.
In your case, there is only one real solution: get another controller. You will save both time and money, and you will know that you'll have a working controller. Chances are you will not ever be able to fix that problem, even with soldering.
You could start by browsing ebay:
http://video-games.shop.ebay.com/System-Accessories-/54968/i.html?rt=nc&Platform=Sega%2520Master%2520System&_nkw=sega%20controller&_catref=1&_dmpt=Video_Games_Accessories&_fln=1&_ssov=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282
If you really want to try to spend some time repairing it, that video could help you understand the controller a lot more:

Hope I helped you!

I lost the adaptor of my sega pico model no. MK-49002, I want to buy another one but don't know the specs. It only says to use 2103 AC adaptor. Need the ratings and other specs of the adaptor please.

Check the bottom of the unit and it should have the specs of the power supplies voltage and amp's. Check Ebay for a replacement. Good luck.

I searched and Sega themselves do not deal with older systems, however here is a phone number to the place that can probably help. They are contracted for the older systems I guess. It is called an RF connector or RF cable too.(714)836-4981.I don't see your system on the list on the link but it wasn't on Sega.com either.
http://sega-parts.com/ is the older systems link.
Sega's main number is 1-800-USA-SEGA but good luck trying to actually talk to someone. No surprise there huh?
Good luck and game on!

I have bought a sega master system type 1. This comes with Alex the kid built in. When playing either the built in game or a game I bought to test it the sega master system crashes after about a minute. ...

This si a very old peice, I would say its the video card inside called the gpu witch is getting hot causing it to crash mid game. This hapends with age,use ect ect the only way to repair this is with a new logic board. With that said you might want to consider buying another of ebay. These are going dirty cheap i seen one for 5 bucks. So really there is not really anything that can be done to tell you the truth.

Thanks and please do be considerate with your feedback and ratings.

honestly sounds like its the controller port either have to open it up and make sure everything is connect correctly around it or even blow some air into the ports to blow anything that might be blocking they come loose now and again over the years of use.

You need an RF Switch. Any kind will do. Sega model 3035 came with your console. Sega model 1603 or Nintendo NES-003 will also work. The RCA plug goes in the back of the console and the lead that looks like cable tv goes on the tv. If your tv does not have the right connection you can purchase an a/v cable that will work.
