Question about NEC VT670 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Our NEC VT670 projector is projecting a blue background. We can make out part of it as one of the menus for the projector itself. Seems the longer the projector is on, the more blue the picture gets. Also it is projecting a blue strip at the bottom of the screen. Any idea what this could be and can we fix it ourselves?

Sounds like one of those problems only cureable with expert knowledge of for example Chroma feed , Lcd function , lamp luminence, not to be a killjoy but it sounds like this is one for the engineers an estimate should be free and even if you dont have it fixed you'll know whats wrong if you want to do it yourself providing you have adequate training of course .... The whole projection is yellow in colour and we need someone to have a look at it. Can you suggest anyone in the Brisbane metro area?

I can possibly save you from having to call someone in.
2 things that you should check before you have someone called in to look at your projector.
1. Color correct in the system menus, you can individually adjust the color levels in this menu. Increasing and decreasing the values can help relieve the yellowness presented.
2. If at all possible, buy a replacement bulb for your projector and if it doesn't work, simply return it.

I can't figure out how to replace my projector lamp for an NEC VC 670 projector. A little help please?

You need to use a phillips screwdriver to first snap off the cover on the bottom and then undo the 2 screws holding it in. The manual is here ( page 53 ): http://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_2522.pdf

NEC VT670 - Lamp won't light. Replaced with new lamp, but gives same error. The manual says to wait a minute and then turn on the power again, but this does not work.

I have the same problem. The lamp appears OK. but she isn't coming on. It seems like a problem to start the lamp.
Did you find a solution?

My NEC mt1075 projector is projecting a shade of blue all over. The entire screen is showing the correct image, but also with a shade of blue. I think something is wrong with the internal wiring. Is this a...

If you're using component video (red/green/blue rca cables) one of the colors may be disconnected, or the wires may be swapped into the wrong color input. If you are using a 15 pin VGA connector, one of the pins may not be getting good contact at the source or at the projector. Or if the VGA cable is split into 5-wire to make a long cable run, one of the five wires may be disconnected. Any of these problems will cause a global color shift while not affecting the color of the projector's on screen menus.

Nec vt670 projector , displays "the lamp has reached the end of its usable life.please replace the lamp" the lamp and filter are fine how do i over ride this error

Typically you will need to replace the lamp. Do not try and squeeze the last hour from the lamp as there is now a chance if the lamp will shatter and scratch the mirror and lcd block rendering your projector with a permanent scratch when projected. If you already have a new lamp fittted then simply go to the menu setting, under installation or setup by memory and there is a reset option. Nec projector vt590 doesn't project RED

Red, Green, and Blue signals come from different wires in the VGA cable.  This sometimes happens if a cable simply is not connected fully.  But it will also happen if the cable is damaged.  The damage might be visible in the form of a bent, broken, or missing pin.  Or it might be internal to the cable.
Try another cable.
If that's not it, then the connector on either your computer or on the projector itself might be damaged.
Also try another computer.
Components inside the projector could also fail.  But I'd bet on a cable problem any day.

Hey SithPitt,
sorry I can't help you, but maybe you can tell me where to find the fuse. I opened the projector and have problems to find a fuse on a first view. The suspected place near ON/OFF is well shielded.
